Which Valuation Do I Need?🤔

We understand that different situations require different types of valuations. Here’s a simple guide to help you choose the right one for your jewellery and/or watches:

💍 Insurance Valuation
Purpose: To insure your items against loss, theft or damage
Value Type: Replacement value (what it would cost to replace the item)
- Typically higher than market value
- Used for insurance policies
- Recommended to update every 2–3 years

⌚ Probate Valuation
Purpose: For legal and inheritance matters
Value Type: Open market value at the date of death
- Required for probate and HMRC
- Reflects realistic selling value
- Prepared for legal use

📝 Family Division Valuation / Sale between parties
Purpose: For selling privately or dividing assets
Value Type: Fair current market value
- Helps ensure fairness between parties
