We specialise in bespoke jewellery pieces for clients. Injecting a unique and full flavour into each piece, we take you on a colourful journey and sustain you as a strong part of the creativity along the way. High Maintenance Jewellery was established in 2009 and has since grown to be a recognised and independent brand. Having the freedom to create handmade jewellery pieces and then seeing our clients reactions when wearing their finished pieces, it drives and ignites me. We are very much committed to our local community, sponsoring the Springhead Falcons U9’s Girls Football Team! High Maintenance Jewellery also teach a range of jewellery workshops to the public and at The Queens Centre, East Yorkshire, for The teenage Cancer Trust. We hold private jewellery workshop parties for adults and also for children - where creativity is a key element, along with lots of fun! In 2016 I was approached by the NHS to design, create, and supply the ‘forget-me-not’ pendants to the NHS forget-me-not charity which is based within the EPAU and Cedar Ward at Hull & East Yorkshire Women’s and Children’s Hospital. I am personally extremely honoured to still continue to provide these to the charity.

It has taken me just over a year to design, create and bring to life this deeply meaningful HMJ collection.

On 4th September 2025, I watched my Nan pass away. The grief was immediate and overwhelming, and I found myself unsure of how to process the enormity of what had happened.

Without fully realising it at the time, creativity became my way of navigating that grief. As precious moments and memories came flooding back, so too did a desire to share my Nan and Grandad’s story, and the extraordinary, enduring love they shared throughout their lives.

‘A Moment in Time’ is a heartfelt HMJ collection, thoughtfully designed and handcrafted in loving memory of my incredible Grandparents and the everlasting love that defined their story.

Each piece has been inspired by the moments, memories and emotions that make their story so special. I hope you enjoy discovering the collection at our online store, and sharing in the memories that inspired its creation.

This collection means more to me than words can truly express. It is my way of honouring two very special people, preserving a little of their story, and celebrating a love that will always remain.

On Sunday HMJ were invited to celebrate Lola’s 7th birthday, and it simply magical…Harry Potter style! 🪄⚡🦉🔮

From the moment we arrived, there was pure excitement in the room! This gorgeous group gave us the warmest welcome and couldn’t wait to begin creating.

Lola and her friends got hands-on designing their own colourful memory wire bracelets, choosing their favourite beads, charms and enchanting Harry Potter-inspired details.

With curious minds and brilliant imaginations, they embraced every step of the jewellery making process. Exploring all of the themed materials, mastering the jewellery tools with care, and creating keepsakes worthy of a place in the Hogwarts treasure chest! 🏰✨

There were plenty of giggles, magical selfies with our selfie board, and memories made. I was so proud of every single handmade bracelet these girls created and took home.

A huge thank you to Kate & Johnny, Lola’s lovely parents, for welcoming HMJ so warmly into your home 🏡 and for trusting us to be part of such a special celebration. It was an absolute pleasure 🫶🏼

100% of the evening filled with creativity, connection and community spirit.
98% attendance from tickets sold, with illness sadly keeping two lovely guests away.

And there’s more…

84% of attendees purchased earrings.
67% of our attendees purchased necklaces.
44% of our attendees purchased bracelets.
71% of attendees bought a Glambola ticket, with 10 lucky prizes finding their winners!
51% of our attendees purchased pieces from our evening’s brand new collection, A Moment in Time.

A little HMJ fun from a very special girly weekend away!

Because when your besties have known you since you were a teenager, supported you through all the highs, lows, ideas, changes, and “I’ve got this jewellery business idea…” moments, you know they’re pretty special people ❤️

So naturally, when we headed off for a break this weekend together, apart from catching up, non-stop laughter, sipping cocktails, watching England, hot tub chills etc, there was one other thing to do…

WEAR HMJ! 🙌🏼

From necklaces and bracelets, to earrings and statement pieces, every one of us had a little bit of High Maintenance Jewellery on.

THE HMJ SOIRÉE: AFTER HOURS 🛍️🪩
Another huge thank you!

I wanted everyone attending The HMJ Soirée: After Hours to leave with a little something extra, so I put together 20 special gift bags for the first guests through the door.

These were made even more special thanks to the wonderful local businesses who kindly contributed treats, gifts, goodies & cupcakes to them.

I am incredibly grateful to every business who supported the event in this way. It was lovely to bring together a collection of independent local businesses and share their wonderful products and services with the people attending the soirée.

And of course, every ticket holder received a couple of little treats from HMJ too.

None of this would have been possible without the support of the people around me, the businesses who got involved and, most importantly, the wonderful customers who continue to support my independent little jewellery business.

Last night wasn’t just about selling jewellery.
It was about bringing people together, creating an experience, supporting local businesses and making memories.

Thank you to every single person who played a part in making The HMJ Soirée: After Hours such a special evening.

From the planning, to the preparation, to the people, to the little extras, I loved every minute of it.

THE HMJ SOIRÉE: AFTER HOURS 🫶🏼🥂
The people.

You are the biggest part of any event I throw, and without a doubt, the most important part of this one.

Seeing such lovely friends, and clients thst became friends, walk through the door, browse the jewellery, try pieces on, chat, laugh, enjoy a drink, feel emotion from my new collection, take photographs, play glambola and simply spend some time together was everything I had hoped for.

I wanted The HMJ Soirée: After Hours to be more than just an evening of jewellery. I wanted it to be an experience and a chance for people to come together and enjoy something a little different.

To every single person who bought a ticket, came along, supported HMJ, purchased something, shared the event, brought a friend or simply took the time to be there, thank you. As an independent business, your support means more than you probably realise.

You helped turn an idea in my head into a real evening filled with people, conversations, smiles and memories. I am so grateful for you all.

Thank you to Harmony & Freya for all of your hard work, your gorgeous hearts, and your huge smiles!
