What a feeling! Through so many challenges, Theo has completed with several merits, 2 years in fisheries, wildlife and land management!
Now to look forward to animal management and zoology! It’s crazy to think so many professionals limited his capabilities as he grew up while me and the family always told him the sky is the limit. Autism is tough but it doesn’t mean you should limit your life. If there’s something you want, go get it!

Let’s talk butts and bodies! 🫶🏼🍑🫶🏼🍑🫶🏼

For the last couple of weeks, I’ve made a conscious effort to do some form of exercise every single day. My primary mission? To negotiate a reduction in the square footage currently occupied by my thighs and backside.

The good news is that the measurements are slowly moving in the right direction. The bad news is that I’m now walking with all the grace and fluidity of someone who has recently dismounted a horse after a three-day expedition. Apparently progress comes with terms and conditions.

I’m not doing this to impress anyone else. I’m doing it for me (and, if we’re being honest, to make Luna’s job a little easier when she’s carrying me around the countryside).

I share these updates partly to keep myself accountable and partly because someone else might need the reminder. I often get compliments about my “thick thighs” and my rather enthusiastic backside, and that’s genuinely kind. But the reality is that how I feel about myself matters more than how anyone else feels about me.

I’m completely supportive of people being comfortable in their own skin at any size. Confidence isn’t measured in dress sizes. But if you’re unhappy with something, and it’s within your power to change it, then give yourself permission to try.

Small steps. Consistent effort. A little bit of suffering. A slightly strange walk. Progress. 🍑🫶🏼🍑🫶🏼

Today’s criminological observation: appearance is a fascinating form of social control.

So, in the interests of maintaining public confidence, I’ve inserted the hair extensions, applied the makeup, located a smile from somewhere deep in the archives, and decided to participate in society.

Am I thriving? Unclear.

Am I presenting a carefully constructed illusion of having my life together? Absolutely.

As the saying goes: fake it until you make it… and if that fails, add another hair extension and reassess the situation. 😂💄💁‍♀️
