Long before modern machinery, Cornish miners were extracting this remarkable metal from the ground, creating an industry that would shape the county's landscape, communities and identity for centuries.

🌊 World Ocean Day 🌊

Here in Cornwall, the sea shapes so much of our lives.

From dramatic cliffs and hidden coves to the wildlife, colours and textures found along our coastline, the ocean provides endless inspiration for the jewellery and gifts we create at The South Crofty Collection.

Every piece we make is handcrafted from pure Cornish tin, connecting Cornwall's rich mining heritage with the natural beauty that surrounds us today. Whether it's a wave-inspired design, a coastal flower, or simply the spirit of Cornwall captured in metal, the sea is never far from our thoughts.

On World Ocean Day, we're celebrating the waters that inspire us and the importance of protecting them for future generations to enjoy.

My favourite ocean views are Peninnis on the Isles of Scilly and also Trevose Head on the North coast of Cornwall although that does change often, I am very easily swayed!!

For just a few weeks each year the cliffs above Polly Joke transform into a sea of red. The contrast of wild poppies, turquoise water and rugged Cornish coastline feels almost unreal. One of Cornwall’s most magical moments.

The poppy fields are part of a National Trust managed arable wildflower scheme and typically reach their peak in late May and June

A little update from us 💛

Since taking over the business five years ago, we’ve worked hard to keep our prices the same while continuing to handcraft all our jewellery here in Cornwall. We’ve always tried to absorb rising costs where we can, but like many small businesses, that’s becoming increasingly difficult.

Because of this, we’ll be introducing some small price increases from the end of April. These will begin with our Eternity, Elowen and Kerenza ranges.

We want to reassure you that our focus hasn’t changed — we’re still committed to creating high-quality Cornish tin jewellery that’s made to last, and to keeping our pieces as fairly priced as possible.

If there’s something you’ve been thinking about, now is a great time to order before the changes come in.
