Hi there, I’m Kate Hunter, Jewellery Designer and Owner of High Maintenance Jewellery. We specialise in bespoke jewellery pieces for clients.

tenance Jewellery was established in 2009 and has since grown to be a recognised and independent brand. Having the freedom to create handmade jewellery pieces and then seeing our clients reactions when wearing their finished pieces, it drives and ignites me. We are very much committed to our local community, sponsoring the Springhead Falcons U9’s Girls Football Team! High Maintenance Jewellery also teach a range of jewellery workshops to the public and at The Queens Centre, East Yorkshire, for The teenage Cancer Trust. We hold private jewellery workshop parties for adults and also for children - where creativity is a key element, along with lots of fun! In 2016 I was approached by the NHS to design, create, and supply the ‘forget-me-not’ pendants to the NHS forget-me-not charity which is based within the EPAU and Cedar Ward at Hull & East Yorkshire Women’s and Children’s Hospital. I am personally extremely honoured to still continue to provide these to the charity.

From as long as I can remember I’ve felt the need to create.

To express myself through colour, style and the little details that make us feel confident, seen and uniquely ourselves 👑

Long before HMJ, there was an 8 year old girl, completely lost in her imagination and loving every second of it. I was lucky to grow up surrounded by encouragement, support and people who never told me my dreams were too big.

That little girl had no idea that one day her love of creating would become an award-winning jewellery brand, worn by thousands of incredible women.

And honestly? I think she’d be pretty proud of where we are today 🏆

Well HMJ had the absolute joy of hosting a children’s jewellery workshop at the weekend, for a birthday girl who’s turning eight!

The gorgeous Olivia and her lovely bunch of friends got hands-on creating fabulous colourful memory wire bracelets with us 💞

From the moment we started, the girls were engaged, asking thoughtful questions, and embracing every step of the process. Enjoying the wide range of colourful materials to use, they then completed their bracelets, finishing confidently whilst using the tools with guidance and care.

It was such a fun, creative celebration filled with laughter, focus, and beautiful handmade pieces for them to take home 💫

A huge thank you to Olivia’s mummy, Shelley, for inviting me into your home and trusting HMJ to be part of such a special day! 🏡 🍒

Since 2018 with the arrival of our HMJ creative workshops, my aim was always to merge these two passions together.

Here at HMJ, we focus to make sure that every person feels welcomed, seen, heard, valued, loved and supported.
