As per usual I've seen a wide selection of vehicles go through the workshop recently, some sporty, some not so sporty. A track prepared Honda Civic Type R for rear inner sill repairs, 19 year old VW Golf plus for 2 new sills and the only sign of corrosion on the car, A quite obviously "Very fast" and fantastic condition 20 year old Subaru Impreza for rear sill and inner wheelarch reconstruction, the pictures showing the construction of the sill panels, a 22 year old VW Beetle for rear sill repairs where all the wet debris gets trapped under the wheelarch liner, a supurb one owner 20 year Proton Jumbuck pick up for new sills which again meant I had to make new sill panels as they are no longer available. All my repairs are rustproofed on the outside and wax injected on the inside. Finally for those with a good memory of the old site at Long Hanborough and "Kay's Pantry", the van my late father John Oliver built that never really got finished and is now unfortunately destined for the big scrap yard in the sky, I've cut a side panel and door section from it which he sign wrote himself and they now hang very nicely in my workshop.

Been a busy period in workshop as always with a wide variety of vehicles, a lovely 1990 BMW 840i for rear sill reconstruction, 1975 Toyota Hi-Ace camper with big rust problems around the rear arches and floor pan, VW Touran for the usual rear sill repair, Suzuki Grand Vitara with a similar problem and remember the super rare Rover 220GTI? Back from the paintshop now and looking absolutely fabulous, rear arches and sills wax injected and ready for the proud owner to reassemble.

As per usual a wide variety of work going through the workshop giving myself the rare chance to make use of my English wheel, a lovely 2005 Ford Fiesta Ghia automatic with leather trim and a rotted out os sill, a very original 35 year old MK2 Golf GTI for jacking point reconstruction (in doom blue, apparently a special order colour (🙈), a 20 year old Honda Civic type S for rear inner wheelarch repairs, the pictures shows where all the dirt and muck collects and causes the problem, a '97 VW T4 for the usual underside corrosion repairs, a drop dead gorgeous 1976 Toyota Hi-Ace camper for rear floor and inner arch repairs and the minibuis for the new bodyside panel is complete and back ferrying folk around.

The usual verity of jobs going through the workshop, a Ford Puma 1.7L that are now getting sort after in for new sills, rear wheelarch panels, floor repairs and a full repaint, a Ford Courier for a repair to the OSF corner and a Citroen Replay minibus for a new rear bodyside panel.

Another period of hard work saving the weird and wonderful! A late 60's Land Rover 110 for some chassis welding (nothing new there!), Toyota Land Cruiser with a rotted out floor to sill section 10 inches wide, both sides and the whole length of the body, the super rare Rover 220GTi is now at the paintshop with all the new metalwork completed, Honda Civic for a nice fabricated sill section for the MOT, a VW T4 Transporter with an area of serious corrosion above the fuel tank, very awkward and repaired with 4 different sections, another rarity in the shape of a Nissan S-Cargo with what I'd describe as a "Flinstones floor" nicely repaired and strengthened with some ribs using the bead roller and finally I achieved one of my goals displaying all 5 of my old motors at the Leys for the Witney Carnival.

Well the hot weather may be nice for a cold beer in the garden but it does make for hard going in the workshop, still chin up and battle on! The mega rare Rover 220GTI has now had it's OS rebuilt with new rear arches, quarter panel sections and sills with the lower edge spot welds measured out to match the originals, a Ford Galaxy exhaust with a couple of mountings rotted away with the customer being told the only way was to replace the whole system which deemed the car uneconomical to repair, a bit of thought and I soon welded new mountings on and the car is back on the road for a very small cost, a Nissan Navara with the "Regulation" rotted out rear chassis, off with the pick up body and 5mm steel reinforcements welded in which will outlast the rest of the truck and last but not least a rare 2001 BMW M5 AC Schnitzer in for rotted out rear jacking points and sill sections.

Lots going on in the workshop with some pretty rare vehicles among the everyday stuff, a SsangYong Musso with heavy front damage needing a good pull with the dozer, a Ford Focus with front damage now complete and back with the client, a very rare 2001 Renault Clio 2.0l sport for 2 new sills, an MGB roadster destined to be a historic race car for various panelwork including a tricky door repair and a new lower quarter panel with a "joddled and punched" top join that should keep the prep shop happy (but probably not😆), an "ultra rare" 1990 Rover 220GTI 3 door hatchback for new rear wheelarch panels and new sills, a Mazda MX5 in for lowering the floor on the drivers side so the very tall driver fits in under the roll cage, the exhaust manifold from a 1971 International 474 tractor with broken manifold studs which I drilled out, re-tapped and fitted new bolts and finally today my 1932 Jensen Special becomes 93 years old seen here on the start line at Kop Hill Climb a few years ago.

Busy as always with some interesting work and things going on, Toyota Hi-Lux with a rotted out cross-member on the Pick up body so body off and turned upside down to cut out the old cross-member and weld in a new one, VW Golf with damage where a wall jumped out in front of the pilot, The MK 5 Jaguar is now at the paintshop having had all the metalwork done, Citroen Picasso on the stilts for the usual rotten sill where its welded to the bottom of the A post and finally I've got my English Wheel on super heavy duty casters so I can move it around the workshop. 😎👍 (Must remember not to get my feet in the way!)

A few of the recent jobs I've been doing:- A VW Polo for a repair on the front door (!), The 205GTI is now complete and looking 100% wax injected to stop any future corrosion, Toyota Hi-lux for 2 new rear leaf spring mountings as the old ones were completely rotted away and finally a new addition to my "Dark side" fleet a 1919 Lister "L" on it's original trolley, flick mag and screen cooled, if you know you know 😎👍

Another very busy spell in the workshop, the Nissan Qashqai is now back with the owner after having a new quarter panel, The Jaguar MKV has had it's final door repaired which was tricky with the frame as well as the skin in a very poor state, a Mazda MX5 for a sill repair (no surprises there!), a super rare Lancia Delta Integrale for windscreen scuttle and tailgate repairs and probably the nicest Peugeot 205 GTI I've seen for a OSR sill and quarter panel section.

Note to self, must post more often! Anyway what have I been up to? A Nissan Navara with the common chassis corrosion problem, done properly here with the body removed and the chassis rebuilt with 5mm steel plates, SSang Yong Musso with heavy front end damage for repair, VW T5 for a lower bodyside repair section after a poor repair from a previous accident suffered from some pretty drastic corrosion (!), My '32 SV Minor project is coming along slowly and now has the bulkhead, ash frame and steering column in place and a template made ready for making the scuttle panel from aluminium and finally a Nissan Qashqui for an accident repair where I'l be grafting in a quarter panel section.

A very busy spell in the workshop hence the lack of Facebook posting, A Toyota Aygo for front end repairs, VW Golf for a new quarter panel section, A VW Transporter for a pull with the body dozer on the front panel, a 2001 Es**rt Van for a tricky scuttle panel section which I had to make from scratch, a super rare 1978 Datsun Skyline for 2 door repairs, drivers side now done and finally I was asked to take my 1932 Morris Commercial to the NEC for the Classic car show.
