Let's talk about markets/craft fairs/fetes.. whatever you call them, let's talk about them.

A lot of time and effort goes into selling at a market, you put yourself and your products out there, for all to see and judge but truthfully the judgement can also hurt. It feels like it's you they are judging, assessing and scrutinising. It's something you have put your heart and soul into. You spend hours making your products and can even spend hours setting up your displays for sometimes, to sell absolutely nothing.

I have to be honest, I wanted to quit this year. It takes its toll to not always feel worth it.

BUT I love the community it brings and the friends you make along the way. And you learn things about yourself.

A question for all my cowgirls..

All of my gemstone jewellery is made with high quality genuine gemstones. I go to a lot of bead fairs and gem shows to source them. The above are genuine turquoise.

How do you feel about howlite? It's a great stone and It's natural colour is white/grey but because of it's porous texture it is often dyed blue or red. Blue is the most common, to mimic turquoise.

As you can imagine, it is a lot cheaper than turquoise which means the price of anything I make with it would be less.

Weekend photo dump - Craft fair edition.

Well, we are all absolutely shattered and it wasn't the weekend we expected, I have A LOT to think about going forward..but some positives were the AMAZING stall holders I was near and got to meet, lily got to experience hotel and craft fair life, and she mostly loved it, except for the cannon fire we knew nothing about, I ate far too many take aways but enjoyed every single one, and Matt and I always get to spend time together which is lovely.

Many more events to come in 2026...2027, who knows what the future holds
