Founded in 1946 by Reg and Joyce Braithwaite, the company is now over 70 years old and is owned and run by the second generation of owners - their daughter Dianne and her husband Frank. Frank was appointed chairman of the Institute of Registered Valuers in 2015 which is the organisation which sets and maintains very high standards for jewellery valuations within the Great Britain & Ireland. Previously he was Chairman of the National Association of Goldsmiths (now National Association of Jewellers) which was an association formed in 1894 to serve the retail sector of the jewellery industry. This organisation demands that their members uphold a fair and just way of supplying jewellery to the public, with a very high set of criteria for any company wishing to join, and a firm set of trading principles which every member must comply, insisting on honesty, integrity and professionalism within its members.
