Contact us at: [email protected] Minas was born in 1938 in Athens.

He trained as a goldsmith who from the age of 15 knew exactly what he wanted to achieve. At the age of 30 he went to America. He lived and worked for 11 years in New York City, as a freelance and established his presence as a designer, creating pieces in gold and silver as solid materials, but never uses stones. In 1980, he moved his studio back to Athens to begin a new limited production of personally signed pieces. Minas has continued this tradition and still personally signs every piece he creates. In 1983 begins to experiment in industrial design and applies his engineering skills to the improvement of his workshop. From 1986 devotes himself to architectural design and constructs an extraordinary house on the Greek island of Mykonos marrying Cycladic Tradition with modern ideas. In 1987 designs and constructs the "Astra" Bar in Mykonos, followed by a collection of designer pieces. In 1990 designs furniture and works in marble, wood and stainless steel. In 1992 his cooperation with George Jensen silver smithy, on a range of designer's products, as well on a large collection of silver and gold jewelry. Four years later, he presents his entire work in an exhibition in Copenhagen, the Cultural Capital of Europe, for 1996 . Minas is the first non Scandinavian artist to join the Danish firm. The first store opens in Mykonos in 1998. The Designer's touch is recongnizable through his creations from the very first moment. In 1999, George Jensen hosted a series of exhibitions in New York, London and Paris. On December 2005, he opened his flagship store in Athens.

MINAS × VOURAKIS

More than 70 years ago, at the age of 15, my father entered the Vourakis workshop. It was there that he learned the discipline, precision and craft that would shape everything that followed.

Today, it is my honour to return to that story from a different place, creating a piece to mark 100 years of Vourakis.

For MINAS, this brooch also represents a first. It is the first piece we have presented to the public using diamonds and precious stones.

But the philosophy remains unchanged.

The diamonds follow the form. They don’t dictate it.

A piece about heritage, continuity, and the privilege of carrying something forward.

Every design begins with a line - an instinct, a movement, a proportion worked out by hand before it becomes metal.

The Wings Bracelet began here: drawn freely on paper, then translated into a sculptural form that follows the body.

Designed to be worn. Made to become yours.

A MINAS piece does not end with the object itself.

It changes with the person who wears it - with movement, light, skin and time. The form becomes less about jewellery as decoration and more about the relationship between the object and the body.

That has always been central to MINAS: pieces that feel sculptural, but never detached from the person wearing them. Weight, balance, proportion and comfort are considered as carefully as the line itself.

The result is jewellery that does not simply sit on the body.
It becomes part of it.

The same line. A different scale.

MINAS has never been limited to jewellery. The same ideas that shape a ring or a bracelet - proportion, movement, balance, material and the relationship between object and body, continue into the objects we live with.

Art of Living is where that language expands.

Furniture is approached as sculpture with a purpose. A table is not simply a surface. A chair is not simply something to sit on. Each piece begins with form, is developed around the way it will be used, and is refined until function and sculpture become inseparable.
Many MINAS furniture pieces are produced in limited quantities or created individually, allowing proportions, materials and finishes to be considered for the space they will inhabit. The result is furniture that feels personal rather than standardized — objects intended to become part of a home for years, not simply part of a season.

From jewellery to furniture, the principle remains the same:
remove what is unnecessary and let the form speak.

From silver to MINAS.

Casting is only the beginning.

Once a piece emerges in metal, the slower work starts: cleaning, shaping, correcting, refining and returning again and again to the surface.

Every curve is examined. Every transition is worked by hand. The piece moves between tools, heat, water and the bench until the form feels exactly as it was intended.

There is no single moment when an object suddenly becomes finished.

It happens gradually, through repetition, judgement and the hand of the maker.

The process creates the object.
The hand gives it character.
