Contact us at: [email protected] Minas was born in 1938 in Athens.

He trained as a goldsmith who from the age of 15 knew exactly what he wanted to achieve. At the age of 30 he went to America. He lived and worked for 11 years in New York City, as a freelance and established his presence as a designer, creating pieces in gold and silver as solid materials, but never uses stones. In 1980, he moved his studio back to Athens to begin a new limited production of perso

nally signed pieces. Minas has continued this tradition and still personally signs every piece he creates. In 1983 begins to experiment in industrial design and applies his engineering skills to the improvement of his workshop. From 1986 devotes himself to architectural design and constructs an extraordinary house on the Greek island of Mykonos marrying Cycladic Tradition with modern ideas. In 1987 designs and constructs the "Astra" Bar in Mykonos, followed by a collection of designer pieces. In 1990 designs furniture and works in marble, wood and stainless steel. In 1992 his cooperation with George Jensen silver smithy, on a range of designer's products, as well on a large collection of silver and gold jewelry. Four years later, he presents his entire work in an exhibition in Copenhagen, the Cultural Capital of Europe, for 1996 . Minas is the first non Scandinavian artist to join the Danish firm. The first store opens in Mykonos in 1998. The Designer's touch is recongnizable through his creations from the very first moment. In 1999, George Jensen hosted a series of exhibitions in New York, London and Paris. On December 2005, he opened his flagship store in Athens.

In 1996, Minas gave Keith Richards a guitar slide. Sterling silver and Gold. Made by hand in Athens. A deeply personal gift between friends.

Keith once said that Minas designs was like he was “making music with shapes.” He meant all of it. The jewellery, the objects, the sundial on the hill in Mykonos.

The slide still exists.

Today he would have been 88.

Minas. Born 4 June 1938, Nea Ionia, Athens. Son of a family from Asia Minor. At fifteen he walked into the royal court jeweller - and asked to learn. They didn’t pay him. He went anyway.

The rest followed.

We carry it forward.

The curve that became a classic.

The 395 Ring is one of the most emblematic MINAS designs - a sculptural form that folds softly around the finger, creating balance between weight and lightness.

A piece that continues to define the language of MINAS.

The Universal Joint Choker. 1974.
The Swan Earrings. 1975.

One year apart. The same hands. The same atelier in New York .

The choker built on precision universal joints - the same engineering principle as the bracelet, applied to the neck. The earrings drawn from the silhouette of a swan - a clip mechanism that holds without piercing.

Made by hand. Both still in production.

Ronnie Wood came to Mykonos 1996.

He spent the afternoon at the house — with his family, on the hill. At the centre of it, a sundial Minas had built by hand in the Athens atelier and installed there himself.

Athens 1998, on stage with the Rolling Stones, Keith Richards wore the Minas watch.

Some things don’t need an introduction.

Universal joint bracelet 1972. New York. World patent.
He shot the campaign with space inmind before anyone thought jewellery could live there.
The bracelet hasn’t changed. Still made by hand, exactly as designed.

New York gave him America. Milan gave him Europe.
In 1976, while still in New York, he began exporting to 52 cities in Italy. A showroom on Via Monte Napoleone. Campaigns in Vogue Italia and Harper’s Bazaar. A collaboration with Roberto Cusi — one of the great gemologists of his time.
Then in 1981, he came home.
Built the workshop with his own hands. From his childhood home. Every bench, every tool, every decision — his.
He could have stayed anywhere. He chose Greece.

Room 1405. 5th Avenue, Manhattan.
That was the address. From that room, he built a distribution network of 220 stores across the United States. Every piece designed by hand. Every relationship built face to face.
This is what it looked like from the inside. →

August 1969. He stepped off a plane with $200 and a name no one in New York could pronounce.
He didn’t come to be discovered. He came to build something.
While in New York, he bought a 1955 Rumi Formichino 125cc — a tiny Italian scooter that became his vehicle through twelve years in the city. These are the streets he learned it on.
