Smiles and Stories | 12 Oct 2026

Last night, our club had hosted our regular meeting at our usual venue after almost a month. It felt good to be back, holding our regular meetings in a familiar place!

The theme was “Smiles and Stories.” Smiles and stories are what keep us connected to others. Through them, we come to know one another, and they help bind our relationships together. It was a night filled with story-sharing and smiles of many different kinds.

🙋‍♂️Dulanga shared his story about developing a “one-button call.” It was full of humour and an interesting twist, proving that “when there is a will, there is a way.”

🙋‍♂️Imran brought a compass and told a story about loss and being found. Sometimes, all we need is to “just relax” and tell ourselves, “All is well.”

🙋‍♂️Denzel shared “Not Just a Letter.” Its suspense and surprise led to an important reflection: “The answer to your problem is not out there; it is back in HERE.”

For Table Topics, 🙋‍♀️Sophie challenged us with all sorts of smiles. Should it be a cheeky smile, a fake smile, or a secret smile? We enjoyed the smiles from both members and guests.

Our General Evaluator, 🙋‍♂️Anthony, also gave us valuable and critical feedback beyond simple praise. He suggested how we could make our regular meetings more enjoyable and identified several areas for improvement.

It was incredible to have all the guests, speakers, and members for sharing at the night! 🥳🥳

🎒 Back to School | 7 Sep, 2026

Class was back in session at our first meeting in Sep! As adults, our best lessons come from the personal stories that shape our journeys. Our speakers took the stage to kickstart the day with these powerful takeaways:

👧 Mimi | The Grit I Never Asked For
Moving to Hong Kong proved that grit is built through action, not feelings. From dreading gym reps to facing public speaking fears, Mimi reminded us that motivation doesn’t come first, it follows. Stop waiting to feel ready. Take action first.

👦 Danzel | In Progress
Don't conform to external expectations. Danzel shared why we should celebrate being a work in progress. When you shift focus away from the end goal, you can truly enjoy the journey of life.

👦 Abir | Overcoming Fear
Abir conquered his lifelong fear of water by learning to swim at age 45. We all have our own "swimming pool" moments. With small steps and a little courage, any obstacle can be overcome.

Which speaker’s takeaway resonates most with you today? Let us know below!

Freedom and resilience | 31 Aug 2026

How do you measure a milestone? Is it by a comfort zone left behind, or a challenge bravely accepted? At our last meeting, we celebrated achievements on both fronts!

👦 David Chan reflected on how fear and silence cost him a relationship and a group project. He reminded us that preparation means nothing without communication, and he is now using Toastmasters to step out of his safe zone.

👦 Victor Van delivered a powerful wake-up call about personal growth. He shared that the magic to change our fate isn’t external. It is found directly in the work we avoid, like stepping up to present a speech.

👦 Abhishek Kumar tackled the daily dilemma of “To do or not to do.” He broke success down into three simple steps: decide to begin before you are ready, decide to continue with resilience, and decide to celebrate your progress.

It’s great to know and see our members are making their achievements in Toastmasters! Drop a ❤️ if you are ready to step out of your safe zone and choose ‘to do’ this week!
