Number Thirty-Three is named after the street number of Melissa Fok’s family home, which holds fond memories of her early years living under the same roof with three generations of her family. The manor’s natural environment, architectural grandeur and palpable heritage inspired every detail of her first three jewelry collections: The Midnight Shadows, an homage to the dark wooden interior; Chande
lier, a reflection of the ceiling’s glimmering contrast; and The Botanics, a symbol of the manor’s verdant garden. From the first moment Melissa reinterpreted an old pair of her mother’s earrings into a ring that remains a cherished family heirloom, her passion for creating lasting memories through jewelry design was ignited. Melissa further honed this gift of creativity through rigorous study at Parsons School of Design, before achieving her Graduate Gemologist degree at the Gemological Institute of America. Inspired by her career in high fashion design, Melissa emerged with a clear determination to establish her own brand. As the founder of Number Thirty-Three, she is able to transcend the conventional confines of design; by working closely with suppliers, experimenting with craftsmen and engaging with clients, the concepts for her jewelry are enriched by those who interact with each piece, at each step of the process.
