Look what Viktor just finished! The hussar’s three blades!

Szablya / Saber / Sabre

Viktor forged a Damascus steel Hungarian saber with a special wire-wrapped hilt and fullers of varying sizes and depths. The typical wide, curved blade and yelman are characteristic features. A long, straight, cross-shaped guard was also very common.

Pallos / Pallasch / Backsword

This saber-hilted, straight-bladed, single-handed sword was another common weapon of the hussars. It was usually worn under the rider’s leg, tied to the saddle. The long blade proved especially useful in mounted combat.

Hegyestőr / Estoc / Koncerz

This thrusting sword had one very specific purpose: to pierce almost anything. In fact this was a substitute for the lance. The blade was extremely long and often featured a reinforced carex shaped ridge to strengthen it during pe*******on. The hilt was usually similar to the other two: a simple saber grip.

New sword reconstruction!

After finishing the arming sword from Visegrád, our next museum collaboration begins this time with the Szent István Király Múzeum of Székesfehérvár.

Our upcoming project is a 10th-century double-edged sword from the age of the Magyar Conquest. It’s a particularly interesting piece, with surprisingly well-documented sources regarding its possible origin and decoration.

The first step was taking as many measurements as possible and carefully documenting every detail.

Új kardrekonstrukció!

Miután befejeztük a visegrádi egykezes kard rekonstrukcióját, következő múzeumi együttműködésünk a székesfehérvári Szent István Király Múzeummal valósul meg.

Következő projektünk egy 10. századi, kétélű kard lesz a honfoglalás korából. Különösen érdekes darab, amelynek feltételezett eredetéről és díszítéséről meglepően részletes források maradtak fenn.

Első lépésként igyekeztünk minél több mérést elvégezni és minden apró részletet dokumentálni.

Let us introduce you to Patric Feuvrier from France.
Patric has practiced historical fencing and stage combat for many-many years. His favorite weapons are the rapier, smallsword, and longsword, but he also enjoys experimenting with unique weapons. Recently, he became interested in the bardiche, which he purchased at our stall.

What makes Patric truly remarkable, however, is his personal journey.
He has been living with chronic short leg syndrome. When he is not fencing, he moves around using a roller skate on his right leg. Instead of allowing this to limit him, he developed an exceptionally deep stance and a very distinctive movement style in fencing. His adaptability, creativity, and determination are simply inspiring to watch.

Patric also shared one of his future goals with us: to create a fencing club where people living with chronic musculoskeletal conditions can develop their skills, discover historical fencing, and learn together in a supportive environment.

We felt this story was simply too good not to share with the people following our page. Patric we truly support your vision and wish you the very best for the future.

Our swords are so well designed that they even bend when they need to reach your opponent.

Jokes aside, the new buhurt longswords are being tested:

- Same 90 cm blades, but longer hilts
- Better POB, but almost the same weight as before (~1750g)
- Shorter guards, which are safer for close contact fighting
