Kecak is a form of Balinese Hindu rhythmic dance and music drama, based on Sanskrit epics. It is traditionally performed in temples and villages across Bali. The dance is performed by a group of a men's percussively chanting "chak" while moving their hands and arms.

The performance depicts a battle from the Ramayana, in which the monkey-like Vanaras, led by Hanuman, help Prince Rama fight the evil King Ravana. In fact, Kecak is also known as the Ramayana monkey chant.

We created "Kecak" with black matte onyx and black hematite for a simple, clean, but tough look. Based on an epic story, for you to tell yours.

Vera is in her early twenties and is from Belayu Village. She loves watching movies and going to the beach. She learned to make jewelry from Kemulan.

Today is Nyepi Day - the day of silence in Bali. It is the time when the island turn into silence for 24 hours.

All the public place in Bali are closed including public services except hospitals, no transportation is allowed, everyone must be stayed at home and not allowed to do some activities, even to work, travel or go outside their home. Lights and sounds will remain off. All of these rules must be obeyed by all people who happen stay in Bali, with no exception.

A day before Nyepi Day is called 'Pangrupukan', where Balinese people gathered in the street and the celebrations are enlivened with 'Ogoh-Ogoh' parade. Ogoh-Ogoh is a demonic statue made from bamboo and paper, it reflecting malevolent elements and at the end of the parade; all of these evil spirits are driven away by burning the Ogoh-Ogoh.

The Nyepi Silent Day celebration makes Bali as the only island in the world capable of resting the whole island from various activities in 24 hours.

In Bali beautiful rice fields can be found almost everywhere, and the Balinese people have depended on this method of agriculture for almost 2000 years.
Rice field in indonesian is Sawah.

One of beautiful sawah in Bali is at Sidemen, Karangasem. Sidemen is a beautiful valley in Karangasem regency, that is blessed with fertile land. It is a 1,5 hour drive from Kuta through winding roads and beautiful landscapes with Mount Agung as the backdrop. Sidemen is still considered as the old Bali, unaffected by the influx of tourism. Everywhere you look you see hundreds of shades of green: Rice terraces, palm trees, mossy river beds and real village life.

You can’t really avoid trekking through the rice fields as you are pretty much surrounded by them. The hiking trails take you along rice terraces and hills, through the valleys of river Unda and many coffee and cocoa plantations. It is best to bring a guide with you to get a great insight on how daily life takes place in Sidemen. If you’d prefer a bigger challenge, there is a trail taking you all the way from Sidemen to Padang Bai. It is a 6-hour hike for which a guide is necessary.

The best time to go trekking here would be really early morning, around sunrise time, so you’ll be back before it gets really hot.
