If you were thinking of an extra hour in bed in the morning, think again.....

Timepieces across most of Europe are to be moved forward by one hour at 1am tomorrow morning, meaning an earlier start for everybody.

But who cares..... with sunny spells, icy winds and scattered hail showers over the last few days, the Irish summer must surely be upon us.

No? Well let's call it what it is.
Irish Summer Time or Daylight Saving Time to be precise.

The recently acquired "grand stretch in the evening" can now be successfully upgraded to "grand stretch version 2.0" or even a "long evening" - but that missing hour has to go somewhere, so it does mean that the mornings will get a little darker for a while.

Most electronic timepieces will look after themselves of course, but don't forget the clock in the car or the central heating timer! And the oven too. Remember to set the clock in the oven! Wait a minute, forget that. Nobody ever sets the clock in the oven!!

And as always, remember that whatever you do, enjoy yourself - because it's later than you think.
