📣Dublin Marathon Running Trivia 📣

2003 was a milestone year for the event.
Prior to that, finishers of the Dublin Marathon were handed a commemorative plaque (often featuring a prominent Dublin landmark) rather than a medal.
In 2003, sponsor Adidas officially switched the finisher's token over to a proper medal format—keeping the debut design very clean and classic with their corporate logo alongside two small running silhouettes.

Pictured here is our very own DDAC club member Olwyn Foroughi wearing the medal in 2003 after completing her (1st & only Marathon) 👏🏻

Autumn 🍂 Open Juvenile XC report/ results
Sunday 18th October 2026

Today at Abbotstown was a hugely successful day for our juvenile athletes in the all Ireland XC relays.
Our U13 girls, including two U12 athletes, had a fantastic run to finish 8th out of 33 teams, just nine seconds off 4th place!
Lily Maher and Dearbhla Johnston produced storming runs, keeping DDAC among the leaders through the opening legs. Eabha Flynn and Eve Cunningham, both running out of age, showed tremendous determination, going shoulder to shoulder with their older competitors.
In the U15 girls’ race, the team delivered a fantastic 4th-place finish!
Hannah Cunningham’s blistering start kept DDAC in touch with the leading teams, giving Yasaman Nuri and Emily Garvey the platform to work their way strongly through the field and bring DDAC firmly back into contention.
Eve Russell delivered a brilliant final leg, catching one athlete and holding off late surges from Clonliffe Harriers to secure a superb team result.
Huge congratulations to all the girls on two outstanding team performances! 👏🏃‍♀️
