One of my all time favourites, a six carat rose cut diamond ring from the mid 18th century. It's hard to overstate the rarity of a diamond dianond from this era, when mining was done by handtools and transport was slow and dangerous.

Just how this stone got back to Europe is unknown, but it was a long and arduous journey.
