I got these vintage hearts ages ago attached to a chain I didn’t like. I removed the hearts and these ones stood out. There’s a large engraved heart, a smaller puffy heart, and two of the plain puffed hearts.

They’re light (hollow) with no hallmarks that I can find so I can’t guarantee they’re sterling, but they tarnish like silver and are not magnetic so could possibly be continental or lower grade silver. I’ll probably get them tested eventually, but realistically I’m unlikely to get around to it anytime soon, so happy to sell them as a bundle in the meantime if someone falls in love with them first.

Either way, they have a nice vintage feel and make very wearable everyday pendants ✨

Plain puffy hearts - 5.94 and 5.86 grams
Large engraved heart - 10.48
Small puffy heart - 4.44 grams

Group price for all four: €120

An antique paste appreciation post. I love antique paste jewellery - it’s generally handmade with skill and care and my collection and I are living our best lives together right now ✨

This gold plated paste brooch in particular absolutely catches the light in the best way.

It is personal collection but I do have some lovely antique Edwardian paste available in my Etsy shop if you’re interested.

Caught the light perfectly yesterday ☀️and my daughter wearing this stack of vintage aqua beads layered with freshwater pearls. Perfect for a hot day.

I can’t decide whether they should stay together as a set or be listed individually for mixing and matching.

Tempted to keep the whole stack exactly as it is.

What would you choose?

I’m always amazed at the sparkle of this Georgian diamond pendant ✨ It’s so old, made circa 1810, and at approximately 215 years old it, shouldn’t look this good.

Besides the main central rose cut stone, there are 25 further rose cuts set around the outline, mounted in silver with a gold back as was the custom at the time.

It’s available on Etsy at €2250 including shipping (and as it’s antique, it should generally be import tax free for US customers) but I can offer a better price here. Although I’m in no rush to sell it, the right person will know when they see it 🥰 DM for details.

The accoutrements on the antique silver chatelaine are all detachable so I took off the silver propelling pencil, made by Sampson Morden & Co in 1878, to show you how well it still works. If you saw my reel last week, you might remember the chatelaine itself; this is one of its most interesting details. Still quite tarnished as I haven’t had a chance to clean it up but you can see the paler section on the barrel which was covered by the mechanism.

Sampson Mordan & Co co-invented the propelling mechanical pencil and they became one of the great Victorian makers of luxury silver - chatelaines, vinaigrettes, scent bottles, notebooks, and all sorts of ingenious accessories.

There’s still a pencil in it. Possibly original but definitely not modern.

The whole chatelaine is available by DM. €1650 including shipping.

Hermès Jewelry dish, because I’m bougie like that.

I bought this pair of really nice Hermès porcelain mini ash trays in the London shop, sort of early 2000s but never used them. They are perfect as ring and jewellery dishes because who smokes these days?!

One is deep turquoise, one in to***co brown, each with a hand-illustrated botanical panel depicting a palm variety: palmier d’Hawai and palmier Phoenix, with gilt detailing.

Made in France, circa early 2000s. Comes with the original orange Hermès box.

Each tray: 8.3 × 6.3 × 2.1 cm
Box: 17 × 7 × 2.5 cm

€175 for the pair, including box. DM to purchase. I ship worldwide.

I sort of cornered the market in antique Edwardian paste hearts last year. The stones were hand cut and they have amazing sparkle and their original bails. I’ve kept some, but a couple are available. Also in the mix is a Georgian silver-on-gold baby heart shown on its own towards the end.

What’s available is on Etsy — or DM me for best price.

Another spring clean find! A late Victorian English sterling silver chatelaine, c.1890s, with a figural top hallmarked for London silver and decorated with a female figure, and a chain made from tiny grotesque mascaron faces inspired by Renaissance decorative art.

Remarkably, its original period accessories still survive together. Though the components were assayed in different cities - London and Birmingham, the lion passant hallmarks throughout, the consistent wear and cohesive aesthetic suggest the ensemble has remained intact for well over a century rather than being a recent assembled grouping.

• A spiralled silver vinaigrette or scent holder, hallmarked for Birmingham and likely by Deakin & Francis, still containing its original absorbent wool for perfume or aromatic vinegar.

• A velvet pin cushion for sewing pins - utterly lethal they are too.

• An aide mémoire with ivory or bone leaves for notes, shopping lists or dance cards.

• A fully hallmarked propelling pencil by Sampson Mordan & Co, one of the great Victorian pencil makers and pioneers of the mechanical pencil - it still has a pencil inside and the mechanism is fully working.

The chains themselves are formed from repeated mascaron links, giving the whole thing an almost Gothic Revival feel.

Part jewellery, part sewing kit, part portable organiser, essentially the Victorian equivalent of carrying your notebook, toolkit and handbag suspended from your waist.

Available. I haven’t polished or cleaned it beyond handling dust, so it still retains its original dark silver patina and oxidation throughout the recessed details. I’ll likely only give it a very light cloth polish unless a buyer specifically prefers a brighter full clean, as I personally love the contrast and age it’s developed over more than a century.

€1,650.

My cobweb blasting on the weekend somehow escalated into a full-blown Spring clean which was horrifying - because of the amount of dust everywhere - and also wonderful because of the amount of stuff I found that I’d forgotten about.

Exhibit A: this vintage gold garnet and pearl celestial brooch. I bought it ages ago, decided to convert it into a pendant, put it somewhere safe and er, out of sight, out of mind…

So, never underestimate the power of a good Spring clean. Also, the perils of running a full-time business and a jewellery account as a side hustle.

Anyway, thrilling to find her again, and here she is, ready for her close-up…
