Well, during the civil war in the US none of the soldiers had enough gold or silver to buy goods. President Abraham Lincoln at the time decided to make a new currency which is now known as the US Dollar.
Back then the US Dollar had two different color sides, one side was white and the back was green. When it was created it would be called a “Greenback”. Push forward to the western days and the greenback was still going strong, the most famous person to be on the notes was Abraham Lincoln, because of his well known feature the cowboys back in the day called the currency Lincoln Skins.
