🎣 Caring for Lough Ennell - for well-being, nature & future generations 🌿

Join us this Sunday, 23 August from 11am–2pm at Tudenham Shores, Lough Ennell for a special pop-up exploration hub celebrating our lake, its fishing heritage and the importance of protecting it for generations to come.

Local anglers and catchment scientists will be there to share stories about fishing on Lough Ennell, explore its connection with the surrounding landscape and discuss efforts to restore important trout spawning habitat.

🎣 Lough Ennell is one of Europe’s last wild brown trout fisheries, with a long and proud fishing heritage in Mullingar - but that heritage is increasingly at risk from water quality and habitat loss.

Come along, learn more about our lake and discover Lake & Land, a new community effort focused on caring for Lough Ennell through stewardship and collaboration.

Congratulations to David O'Malley Watchmaker, Jeweller & Fishing Tackle on an incredible 70-year milestone.

Since 1956, this family business has proudly served generations of customers from Dominick Street, Mullingar. During a recent conversation with Chamber President Suzanne McEvoy, David shared the story of the business journey - started by his father, continued by his brother, and later expanded by David himself.

70 years of building trust, adapting through generations and providing valued service to the local community is a remarkable achievement for any business.

We wish David and the team continued success for the years ahead.
