A few weeks ago, I dropped this old leather jacket and older leather bag into CycleUp Textiles - a training and social enterprise based in the lovely village of Athleague, Co. Roscommon. On Monday last, I received these extraordinary pieces of skilled craftswomanship - a beautiful leather tote bag and a gorgeous leather coin purse. The circular economy at its best!

This is not the first time I have bought something from them but it is my first 'commission'. Absolutely delighted with both guilt-free gifts to myself!🥰

Thank you to Alena and all the team CycleUp Textiles - look them up and be amazed at what they do and the quality of their work. 😁

Another lovely day thegreendoormarket today - literally and metaphorically! The sun shone, people came in, said hello, admired my work and lovely music was provided by Sarah - apologies, I should have gotten her full name - some covers and also her own work.

And this strange photo (magnifying glass may be required) is one taken by me of my many new friends - a lot of (because I don't like to use military phrases) of money spiders visited me and my stall today. Not a lot of chat from them, their footwork was stealthy - not a sound - and they seemed to particularly like my copper work. Discerning taste obviously! I said my goodbyes to them as I headed out into the glorious afternoon sunshine at the end of the market. Perhaps we will meet again - hopefully they will bring their wallets next time😁

The Summer Solstice is approaching and I am going to market! On Saturday 20th June, I will be in Bluebell thegreendoormarket! Lovely to be going back - great venue, great variety of stalls, delicious food and drink, live music and friendly canines who bring their owners along for the treat!

And on the longest day, I will be The MART Market in Rathmines! An interesting old building, the old fire station - i those walls could talk!

So if you are out and about on either Saturday or Sunday, drop in for the chat and a browse. Have a good weekend.🙂
