I am a Jewelry Designer based in Caesarea. Design is my life. It’s my five-star work vacation. It’s something I do before going to bed, and something I can’t wait to do in the mornings. Without it, my world would be black and white. I love creating and designing Jewels. I’m the happiest when I’m making something that didn’t exist before. My Inspiration
Jewelry is really about self-love and regard
. It is a constant in the way we adorn ourselves. Most women (and some men too!) have a favorite piece of jewelry that they will wear no matter how they dress, reflecting a sense of safeness and of joy that transcend the moment. Nothing gives me greater pleasure than the knowledge that I am able to use my creative processes to fabricate something real that will bring pleasure to others. Living as I do on the shore of the Mediterranean, the quality of my life is determined to a great extent by the sea and all it represents. My family spends as much time as possible combing its beaches, and we are lucky enough to have a bird's eye view of it from every window of our home, including our studio. Willingly or not, our moods and inspiration are in tandem with the mood of the sea. Our work, inevitably organic, is a homage of sorts, a salute to its life and debris. I think it is fitting that I have named this collection "Light and Seascapes". My Techniques
The textures and surface effects have been achieved by the use of various combinations of metals, such as high polished and matte sterling silver and brass, distinguished by unique "rippled" textures, color and surface effects. The unique seemingly self-lighting effect is achieved by forging the basic shell shapes into tiny "reflectors" that capture the light, using specially developed miniaturized tools, then texturing with a series of graduated chisels.. My Design Concept
The fabricated metals, pearls, and semi-precious stones are unified in a nexus, or a composition based on a continuum of otherwise separate and individual modular elements, that together create a regular symmetrical form. In one piece of jewelry there might exist concurrently both a "major" linking element, such as a pearl necklace, as well as a "minor" linking element, such as "gold" shell clusters or "canoe" shapes, that repeat rhythmically, and are the defining element of the symmetry.
