🇨🇭Geneva in May ✨
We’ll be at GemGenève and making time for private meetings with designers, Maisons, and watchmakers on a few extra days.
It’s a good chance to talk through a cutting challenge, explore custom specs, or just see what’s possible.
Drop a message or call +972542886446. See you soon !

Invisible setting on a curved case is one of the hardest executions in diamond work, and the reason starts long before the setter picks up a tool.

No two stones here are identical. Each was cut to its own schematic, its geometry dictated entirely by the surface. The curve demands it.

Like every component of the watch, each stone was engineered to its exact position.

📍Bali Diamonds will be in Geneva from May 7 to 13, 2026. Let’s meet.

This fancy intense yellow, internally flawless diamond was captured under the microscope during quality control.

Every angle, facet and measurement aligns with the original cutting schematic, transforming technical vision into a luminous masterpiece.

From custom fancy shapes to complex geometries, we execute exact cutting blueprints down to the micron, delivering accuracy High Horology and High Jewelry demand.

Full step cut on a modified shield shape.
The outline is asymmetrical : flat top, angular shoulders, and a single sharp point on the base. Now add a critically shallow pavilion.

In step cutting, depth is what generates light return ; reduce it and you’re working against physics.

Getting a stone this flat to still read as perfectly brilliant means every facet angle on both faces had to be calculated with zero tolerance for approximation.

✔️Matched across a whole set, for a watch setting where they sit flush.

⚡️Sharp angles don’t forgive⚡️
A lozenge diamond comes to a point where the margin of error is essentially zero : any deviation in symmetry or tip geometry shows immediately, and a stone this thin at its extremities is vulnerable the moment it meets a setting tool.

Cutting one is a precision exercise, but cutting a matched set, to the same schematic, where every stone behaves identically under light, that’s a different discipline entirely. This is our expertise.

Most people think of rubies and picture a ring, a necklace, a red carpet moment.

But inside every fine mechanical watch, rubies are doing something far more discreet — and just as remarkable. They’re working.

Synthetic rubies, precision-cut and perfectly smooth, sit at the heart of the movement as jewel bearings. Their job ? Reduce friction, protect the most delicate components, and keep time — accurately, reliably, endlessly.

When a watchmaker says “21 jewels”, this is what they mean. Not decoration. Engineering.

Harder than almost any natural material (Mohs 9), lab-grown rubies offer something nature alone can’t guarantee at this scale: perfect consistency. And in a mechanical movement, consistency is everything.
It’s one of the most elegant marriages of gemology and precision craft — hiding in plain sight, beat after beat.

At Bali Diamonds, we’re passionate about the full story of gemstones — from the jeweler’s bench to the watchmaker’s loupe !

The transparent shield protecting a watch dial is commonly mistaken for glass. It is not.

Fine watchmaking employs synthetic sapphire crystal—a laboratory-grown corundum with the identical crystalline structure as its natural counterpart.

The Verneuil process transforms pure aluminum oxide under extreme heat into crystallized masses, which are then sectioned with diamond-tooled precision and polished to optical clarity.

The technical specification: 9 on the Mohs hardness scale, rendering it virtually impervious to scratching—surpassed only by diamond itself.

This is material engineering in service of horological excellence. Synthetic sapphire represents not a compromise, but rather the deliberate selection of consistency, purity, and performance over the irregularities inherent in natural stone.

A choice befitting instruments designed to measure time with unwavering precision.
