A matched pair of kite-shaped diamonds.

A form that feels modern at first glance,
yet carries centuries of history within its lines.

Rooted in the Georgian (1714–1837) and Victorian (1837–1901) eras,
kite shapes emerged when diamonds were hand-cut, guided by the rough rather than symmetry.

In the diamond brooch of Empress Eugénie, created by Paul Alfred Bapst in 1855, we see multiple shield and kite shaped diamonds used for balance and presence.

Further historical evidence appears in The “Diamonds of Golconda”, documenting antique shield forms including a rare pink example
believed to have been cut 200–300 years ago.

Once valued for surface, geometry, and quiet character over brilliance, these shapes now return in contemporary design.
