💎 Lab-Grown Diamonds: The Rules Have Changed
If you follow the world of jewelry, you’ve likely noticed: lab-grown diamonds have officially stepped out of the shadow of natural stones and established themselves as a separate category. The big news is that GIA (the world's most authoritative gemological institute) has introduced a new grading scale specifically for them.
What has changed?
Previously, both natural and lab-grown stones were evaluated using the same complex 4Cs system (D-Z for color, VVS-SI for clarity). However, in 2026, GIA shifted to a simplified system for "grown" stones. Instead of a confusing array of letters, we now see two clear categories:
Premium: These are "perfect" stones. Only D color (completely colorless), highest clarity, and flawless cut. This represents the pinnacle of modern technology.
Standard: High jewelry quality (E-J color, VS clarity). Beautiful, brilliant stones suitable for everyday wear.
GIA no longer certifies stones with quality lower than "Standard."
Why does this matter to us?
We fully support this decision. For us, jewelry art is, first and foremost, a territory of honesty. In the past, marketers often misled customers by claiming that a lab-grown diamond is "exactly the same" as a natural one. Now, everything has fallen into place:
A natural diamond is a rare, accidental miracle of the earth.
A lab-grown diamond is an outstanding product of high technology.
These are two different products with different philosophies. The new scale puts an end to the debate and protects you from attempts to pass one off as the other.
Conclusion for Buyers:
The new system makes your choice transparent. You no longer need to be an expert in shades to understand the quality of a lab-grown stone.
Our Advice:
Choosing perfection and the triumph of science? Your choice is Premium.
Need magnificent brilliance at a reasonable price? Standard is the perfect fit.
The most important thing is that you know exactly what you are buying, without marketing gimmicks or confusion.
