You do not learn to make a kiddush cup from a book.

Ten years ago, Yonathan went up to Jerusalem to learn from someone who already knew. Not a workshop, not a course: months of watching before he was allowed to touch the metal. Then years of getting it wrong — cups too thin, cups that warped, rims that were not right.

That is how this is passed down, and there is no shortcut. Silver does not lie: either the hand knows, or it does not know yet.

The cups come out of our Tel Aviv workshop today. But the hand that makes them was taught in Jerusalem.

On teste quelque chose.

We’re testing something.

Usually the Magen David hangs at the end of a chain. We built it into the chain. It doesn’t flip, doesn’t swing, doesn’t disappear into your collar. It’s part of the link itself.

The result: a necklace you forget you’re wearing. No pendant catching the light — just a line of silver, and in the middle, a star that belongs to it.

New year, new basics. This one is made for every day — under a shirt, with nothing else.

Handmade in our Tel Aviv workshop, 925 sterling silver.

It’s a test. Tell us what you think. 👇

🇺🇸
Where does the name Kameart come from?
From Kamea — amulet, in Hebrew.
It was in Uman, a long time ago, my first trip there. I saw people wearing small Peteks around their necks. Rabbi Nachman’s parchment, slipped into something very simple. Nothing crafted, nothing designed.
But the idea itself was huge. Carrying a protection on you. A hidden word against your skin.
I thought: this deserves a proper setting. It deserves to be made for real, by hand, with the care you give to what matters.
That’s where Kameart was born. Not from wanting to make jewelry. From wanting to give a real form to something sacred.

This isn’t jewelry. It’s an identity.

Ten colors, two sizes — the cord changes, the silver stays. You pick the one that feels like you.

But what really matters, you’ll never see. Inside a small silver piece, Rabbi Nachman’s Petek is sealed. Hidden. Forever.

That’s what an amulet is. Not what shows — what protects.

Tomorrow night, we step into a new year.
The year that’s ending has been heavy for many of us. We’ve all carried something — a weight, a worry, a name we don’t forget.
And still, we begin again. That’s Rosh Hashana. Not pretending nothing happened, but choosing to move forward anyway.
It’s a bit like what I do at the bench every day. You take raw material, you work it, you transform it. It keeps the marks of the fire and the hammer — that’s what makes it beautiful.
May this year be sweet. May it make you stronger, without making you harder.

The Magen David — the Shield of David, carried since Biblical times as a mark of protection and Jewish identity, worn today by observant and secular Jews alike as an unmistakable sign of belonging.
At Kameart, we turned it into an entire collection: Ilai.
The Ilai in sterling silver 925, available in four sizes. The pearl version, in white or blue. White diamond, multicolored rainbow diamond, deep blue sapphire paired with a sparkling diamond. Turquoise stones in the large version, black stones on a chain of dark beads with silver spacers. And the solid 14k gold version, individually handcrafted.
One symbol. As many ways to wear it as there are people wearing it.

Last week, an express request landed at the workshop. A wedding in Portofino. A premium, custom tallit, on a tight deadline.

We won’t say who. Some things stay between us and the client.
But here’s what we will say: at Kameart, a public figure or someone we’ve never heard of — it’s exactly the same work. The same standard. The same purity in the mitzvah. From well-known names to clients we only know by their first name, no one comes before anyone else.

A tallit is a tallit. Sacred, no matter who wears it.
