This week, we are continuing are feature on Gabriel Slotnick, our Site Director at Advantage QuickStart Tennis and Director of Advantage QuickStart Camp, Hitter and Teaching Pro at Manhattan Plaza Racquet Club.
What Gabriel loves most about tennis is that tennis is a sport that is impossible to master, so there is always something to work and improve on. He also loves the athleticism of tennis, the running, stopping, hitting, recovering, using the whole body to play the sport. To Gabriel, there is no better feeling then when the ball hits the sweet spot of the racket & when your shot lands in the spot on the court you intended it to go. He also loves the fact that tennis is a sport for a lifetime and something for the whole family to play together.
It was this love of tennis that inspired Gabriel to leave corporate America so he could pursue his passion and teach tennis to kids. Prior to working at Advantage Tennis, Gabriel worked in Forensic Accounting and Internal Audit for 15 years. When reflecting on the transition, Gabriel said:
“I saw a job posting from Advantage Tennis and here I am almost 8 years later blessed with being able to make a career out of doing something I love. It puts a smile on my face to see the children I teach laughing on the tennis court and improving their skills daily. My dream is to spread my passion of the sport to the children I teach and that they will fall in love with playing tennis just like I did.”
Advantage QuickStart is lucky to have Gabriel! Tune in next week for another feature.
