Sometimes I do work (pattern cutting/sewing) for other designers. Like this beauty! Not necessarily my aesthetic but it’s also not my design. But still one must appreciate these garments for their perfection.
This is a gorgeous raw silk. With a super light block fuse it’s a dream to work with.

Our beautiful friend Jeff passed away on Saturday. I’m still in a state of shock. This man who I would consider family, we have been through so much. I’m struggling to take it in. So many tears, hugs, sad phone calls. RIP our darling Jeffers. You are loved and missed by so many ❤️❤️❤️

On this 2nd day of real fake false spring I’m thinking of soft silks like this silk charmeuse top from a couple of summers ago. This might need to be reworked into a dress, maybe in a silk crepe. ☀️ 💗

More from behind the seams. Starting with sketch and fabric swatches and then the the oh-so-important muslin. On to the finished garment with self covered buttons and belt buckle. The printed silk charmeuse lining really completes this otherwise classic design. All fabrics are from 🤍🖤

Reminiscing about this blue beauty from a few years ago. Silk-wool is one of my favorite fabrics to work with and this shade of blue is spectacular. It really looks great on most skin tones and hair color, maybe that’s why it’s a favorite of many of my clients.

Happy 15th wedding anniversary to my dear friends and .g.b 🤍
I have known Camilla since 1995 when we studied together in Finland, where we both grew up. She was a cool city girl and I was a dork from the country. 🤣 We have been through a lot and have always been close friends even tho separated by distance when I moved to London, then New York much later on.
When it came to the planning of the dress for her winter wonderland wedding I remember the process as easy. It probably wasn’t. Camilla came to London to buy fabrics and I would do her fittings when I was visiting Finland. Initially I wasn’t sure about the cape and now of course I love a cape more than anything. The gown is gray silk chiffon over 4-ply silk crepe with beaded trim to emphasize the empire cut. The cape is ivory wool fully lined in silk charmeuse.
