Built and designed by Manjunath Mysore or popularly known as Ængel, Maaya holds a special place to people who hav been here before and people who are regulars. A library lounge that has audio/video and more than 3000 books about Spirituality, Religion, Philosophy, Self-help, Biographies, Alternative Therapies & Sciences, and some relevant fiction etc. Maaya has constantly been instigating self rea
lization and has a unique sense of bonding and belonging with the visitors. Maaya as the name suggest is an illusion , a visual illusion... In a city like Bangalore where there are more buildings then trees Maaya is an oasis and a visual delight. Built on certain ideas and ideology of the maker Mr ÆNGEL :-)
Maaya stands as a symbol for one's raw, pure self. Cheers to the Ængel who watches over us....

" This project was initially conceived by the client as a space where he could spend time studying religion, spirituality and philosophy. Since he required that there be no religious or cultural references, the aim was to create a simple, primitive structure of the sort that preceded organised society and culture. The emphasis is on natural materials - wood, stone, clay and straw - recycled where possible, as in the use of sleepers as structural supports. With a simple kitchen, extensive library, indoor and outdoor seating, Internet access and audio-visual equipment, the space is now open to members of the public seeking personal development.
