Lippan kaam or mud/clay work is practised by the nomadic tribes of Kutch.
They decorate their house/huts called "bhungas" walls with mud and mirror work

It is exquisite and we had to try our hand at a small one

They say "If you look real hard, you can find opportunities in adversities". It is easier said than done, isn't it? Nevertheless, if done, your life takes a 360-degree turn. Are we prepared or do we have, as what it is called, the Adversity Quotient (AQ)?

I stepped into social entrepreneurship from my cushy job a decade back and the pandemic/lockdown situation recently, has been 2 such bends. I learnt that one can recreate new pathways to emerge like a phoenix or succumb to it.

I am ready to share what I discovered for myself. Some of you know me as Karaashilp, some as a colleague in the corporate world, some as a friend, some as an acquaintance, and some yet to know.

I have poured the learnings of this roller coaster journey in my upcoming book "Bring Out that Red Lipstick" and in my new role as a Feminine Energy Transformation & Mindfulness Coach. There are only one "firsts". Yes, and I am supremely excited about my first book! I would have never thought I would ever author a book. I am so looking forward to sharing more about the book in the coming days. So stay connected and kindly bear with me as I blow my own trumpet! :)

After a mesmerizing poetry event on 1st March where we celebrated womanhood, BananiVista is all set for their next Women's day special event on 15March, 2020.

BananiVista 's initiative "Letyourselfgo" also supports community of entrepreneurs, hence how can we not celebrate women entrepreneurs this Women's Day?

BananiVista collaborates with Kautilya Entrepreneurship and Management college to drive this program.

Some of the inspiring women entrepreneurs from Bangalore would love to come and share their journey and learnings. The entrepreneurs would be speaking on how they have created a life of their own on their own terms, how important being financially independent and most importantly what it takes to be an entrepreneur?

The best part is we are honoured to have our guest speakers who are two inspiring entrepreneurs, namely, Prof. Arun Bhattacharya (IIM alumni) and Prof. Amith Guptha (Callidus Social Enterprises) who supports and mentors women entrepreneurs and also have given a direction to many young entrepreneurial minds.

As most of you know, I have been running Karaashilp as a solopreneur since past 10 yrs. I believe in slow fashion, thoughtfully crafted, functional products. Hence you wouldn't see Karaashilp accepting too many orders or selling aggresively.
I believe in the power of word of mouth and have sustainably & organically grown without marketing. We don't have high budgets for ads or marketing.

We run a closed whatsapp community - "The Karaashilp Tribe" and is open by invite. The idea was to have meaningful conversations around sustainability and to be in connect with our long-standing customers and friends who would like to be the first to get new product launch updates and launch offers.
