One conversation can change a commission.
This bespoke lion brooch began after my feature presentation at BNI Hallmark, when Ashok Mani Kumar came to me with one request:
"Make me a lion."
Not because a lion is loud—but because it leaves an impact without saying a word.
From the first sketch to the CAD, casting and stone setting, every detail was designed around his personality.
That's what bespoke jewellery means to me.

When Manju Hugme, founder of Swastham Bhavati and Relations & Advisor at Open Business Networking (OBN) Pan India, was honoured for her remarkable work, her daughter wanted her to wear something that represented everything she'd built.

This Independence Day, I wanted to celebrate India in a way that feels true to Amore by Neha Kochar — through fine jewellery inspired by the spirit of our tricolour.

The brooch and necklace in this carousel were designed as a tribute to Indian elegance, heritage, and craftsmanship. Instead of creating a literal flag-inspired piece, I wanted the gemstones to tell the story subtly — through colour, movement, and emotion.

Jewellery has always been more than adornment. It carries identity, memory, and pride.

This necklace stopped me mid-scroll. 🔍
Not because it was covered in huge diamonds.
Not because it was flashy.
But because it had something many modern pieces are missing — beautiful texture and thoughtful structure.
At the Toxic trailer launch, Nayanthara wore a stunning gold-and-diamond necklace by Tamanna Bhatia Fine Jewellery.
As a jewellery designer, I immediately noticed the details:
✨ Coiled gold links ✨ Diamond bezel segments ✨ A design that avoids obvious repetition
That is what makes a piece feel crafted, not just assembled.
The best jewellery doesn’t always need a dramatic centre stone. Sometimes the real luxury lies in movement, texture, proportion, and how the piece sits on the body.

Some jewellery begins with a sketch.
This one began with a moment. 🌊
Last month, I was in Rishikesh.
One morning, I sat quietly by the Ganga ghat and dipped my face beneath the river.
For a few seconds, everything became silent.
And then I saw something that stayed with me long after I left — light filtering through the water from above.
It was one of those rare moments that cannot be photographed exactly the way it is felt.
When I returned, I kept thinking about that single image in my mind.
So I designed the Ganga Drop Pendant.
💎 Aquamarine for the calm blue-green depth of the river.
💎 Diamonds for the rays of light that danced through the water.
This piece is part of my Memory Collection, where every Monday I turn a memory into jewellery.
Usually, they are my clients' stories.
This time, it is mine. 🤍

Everyone is talking about the Ramayana trailer.

I couldn’t stop looking at the jewellery.

As a GIA-certified jewellery designer based in Chennai, I watched the trailer through a completely different lens.

Not as a movie critic.

Not as a fashion stylist.

But as someone who has spent years studying Indian jewellery, temple art, and historical ornamentation.

Sai Pallavi looks graceful and elegant as Sita.

But one question stayed with me throughout the trailer:

Could Sita’s jewellery have told an even deeper story?

In the Valmiki Ramayana, Sita’s ornaments are not simply beautiful accessories—they become part of the narrative itself. Her jewellery carries meaning, identity, memory, and symbolism.

For centuries, South Indian temple sculptures have also depicted Sita wearing distinctive ornaments that reflected her royal lineage and cultural heritage.

What fascinated me was the contrast.

The attention given to Ravana’s world reflects thoughtful historical inspiration. It made me wonder what an equally research-driven interpretation of Sita’s jewellery might have looked like.

This reel isn’t about criticising the film.

It’s about appreciating how jewellery can become another layer of storytelling.

As jewellery designers, we often say every ornament has a purpose.

Perhaps that’s why I couldn’t stop noticing this one detail.

Some jewellery celebrates an occasion.

Some jewellery preserves a memory. 🤍

Over the last three years, I’ve designed many bespoke pieces—engagement rings, bridal necklaces, anniversary gifts, and heirloom redesigns.

But every once in a while, a client shares a story that changes the way you think about jewellery.

One client came to me with a request I’ll never forget:

“Can you create something that feels like my mother? Not her face. Not her name. Her presence.”

That single sentence became the foundation of this necklace.

The floating moonstone represents a mother’s quiet presence—always there, always catching the light in a different way.

The heartbeat line gently transforms into the word “Ma”, reminding us that the moment someone becomes a mother, their heart changes forever.

This piece will never be part of a catalogue.

It belongs to one story.

One memory.

One family.

That’s what bespoke jewellery means to me.

It’s not about creating another beautiful design.

It’s about creating something that carries love long after words are no longer enough.

Everyone is talking about the couture.

I couldn’t stop looking at the jewellery.

Watching Rahul Mishra’s DEVI collection wasn’t just about admiring beautiful garments. As a GIA-certified jewellery designer based in Chennai, I saw something much deeper.

I saw centuries of Indian craftsmanship being reinterpreted for a global audience.

The armlets.
The necklaces.
The waist belts.
The language of temple jewellery that has existed for generations.

What touched me most wasn’t just the collaboration or the runway.

It was seeing Indian jewellery being celebrated not merely as an accessory, but as a symbol of culture, identity, craftsmanship, and storytelling.

As designers, we often say jewellery tells stories.

This collection reminded me that some of our oldest stories still have the power to inspire the world.
