Three days. Dozens of sketches. A design I was genuinely proud of.
And then I told my client — I can’t make this for you.

This is a Toi-et-Moi ring — French for “you and me.” Two stones, two souls, one band. One of the most romantic ring designs ever created.

I had designed it in 18k yellow gold with:
— A split shank band
— An oval diamond (1.25ct)
— A marquise diamond (1.1ct)
— A hidden heart connection only the wearer would know about

It was beautiful. My client loved it. I loved it.

But when I really studied it against her hand measurements — the proportions were wrong. The marquise would overpower her fingers. The split shank would sit uncomfortably. She would have worn it once. Then stopped.

A piece this beautiful deserves to be worn every single day.

So I went back. Explained everything. And we redesigned it together. The final piece was different — but perfect for her.

That’s what custom jewellery really means. Not just what looks beautiful. What feels right. Every single day.
