Pookaari X Neeta Boochra

I've always loved wearing silver jewelry ever since I was a teenager. For me, this collection of jewellery from Neeta Boochra Jewellery is just right to mix and match with both my western wear and my Indian looks.

I loved the blue enamel work in the ring. It is so detailed and elegant. Inspired by nature I just had to pick a bunch of bougainvillea from my garden and use it as a frame for this picture to bring out the blue.

How would you style this ring? Tell us in the comments section below.

Pongal is special at home here in Tamilnadu. It's a festival of gratitude. Gratitude to the sun and mother nature for giving us a bountiful harvest. This year gratitude takes on way more meaning than before with the pandemic still upon us.
I like celebrating festivals. It gives me a chance to decorate my home and wear lovely clothes. Lots of positive vibes while doing this and receiving compliments from my family is always special.
For the Pongal table, I wanted to keep it very traditional and South Indian. I picked out a brass thattam (platter)and my brass cups for the Pongal and a davara (a vessel to serve South Indian coffee) for the coffee. My plumeria was in bloom and they were perfect to strew around on the table. A dear friend had sent me fresh turmeric from her farm and here in Coimbatore growing up amidst turmeric and coconuts I thought that it was perfect timing and wanted to use it for my tablescape. The olai parrots are from a local craftsman in Pollachi. I discovered him via . And of course my porcelain cow and calf set added the perfect finishing touch to my Pongal table. I hope you like it. Please do tag if you're inspired by this and trying out something festive at your homes this Pongal. It would mean a lot!.

Our curated vase with flowers and sweets are the most beautiful medium for expressing good wishes and love. Gifting these to your loved ones is the perfect way to wish them good luck this Pongal.
You could also leave it in a corner of your coffee table for your family to snack on during the Pongal holidays.
Check out our blog for what sweets I like and more details.
Featured here is my all time favorite - the Thoothukudi kadalai mittai

Pongal conjures up the excitement of making Pongal at home, waiting for the pot to boil over so that we can shout Pongal O Pongal. Sending sweets for Pongal is more meaningful. I wanted unique packaging with cows that resonates with the festival.

For this post, I wanted an image with flowers. That much I was sure of and only that I was sure of. Pookaari means a girl selling flowers. It's a very Tamil name and resonates with where I live and my South Indian culture. The Ixora (Thechi) flower is rich in texture, depth, meaning, and color. The red for me signifies Devi and therefore everything auspicious and beautiful. With the new offerings that I'm curating for you at Pookaari, I'm hoping to embark on a wonderful journey with all of you doing what I do best - Curating!

Many thanks to and for the conversations and your inputs.
