🙏🏾 Condolence Message🙏🏾
It is with profound sorrow that we inform the Cambrian Hall Alumni community of the passing of our fellow Cambrianite, Neel Rattan Chopra.
Capt. S. Chadha (1st Student of Cambrian Hall) fondly remembers Neel and writes: "Neel Rattan Chopra studied in Cambrian Hall around 1959 in his early schooling days; thereafter he joined Doon School. He was a class junior to me. Neel’s bua, Mrs. Mehta, was a family friend of my mother, and as such, I spent my afternoons after school at 1 EC Road, his family home. His sister Monika (Student) and mother Aunty Chopra (Teacher) later joined Cambrian Hall Dehradun.
I again met Neel in London in 1996, where he was a Chartered Accountant, and our association continued, meeting up frequently for social occasions.
Sadly, after Neel’s wife Jane passed away, he developed Parkinson’s and went into a Retirement Home. I had the good opportunity to visit him a few times, and it was a great pleasure to be with him, although the circumstances were different. He was truly a thorough Gentleman and the nicest person I have ever met in my life.
It is sad his mother in India and wife in England were dying at the same time, and he could not come for his mother’s last rites. I hope they are all together now and showering blessings on their children Preeya (Daughter) & Rohan (Son) and their families."
The Cambrian Hall Alumni Association extends its deepest condolences to the Chopra family during this difficult time.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
