🙏🏾 Condolence Message🙏🏾

It is with profound sorrow that we inform the Cambrian Hall Alumni community of the passing of our fellow Cambrianite, Neel Rattan Chopra.

Capt. S. Chadha (1st Student of Cambrian Hall) fondly remembers Neel and writes: "Neel Rattan Chopra studied in Cambrian Hall around 1959 in his early schooling days; thereafter he joined Doon School. He was a class junior to me. Neel’s bua, Mrs. Mehta, was a family friend of my mother, and as such, I spent my afternoons after school at 1 EC Road, his family home. His sister Monika (Student) and mother Aunty Chopra (Teacher) later joined Cambrian Hall Dehradun.

I again met Neel in London in 1996, where he was a Chartered Accountant, and our association continued, meeting up frequently for social occasions.

Sadly, after Neel’s wife Jane passed away, he developed Parkinson’s and went into a Retirement Home. I had the good opportunity to visit him a few times, and it was a great pleasure to be with him, although the circumstances were different. He was truly a thorough Gentleman and the nicest person I have ever met in my life.

It is sad his mother in India and wife in England were dying at the same time, and he could not come for his mother’s last rites. I hope they are all together now and showering blessings on their children Preeya (Daughter) & Rohan (Son) and their families."

The Cambrian Hall Alumni Association extends its deepest condolences to the Chopra family during this difficult time.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

CH Alumni Life Membership Badge Ceremonies

Earlier this month, Cambrian Hall Alumni Association (CHAA) had the privilege of hosting two Life Membership Badge Ceremonies to honour Cambrianites who recently took up CH Alumni Life Membership.

These ceremonies provided a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with alumni from different eras and celebrate their enduring bond with their alma mater.

The first ceremony was held on 10th January at DSOI, Dehradun. The following alumni were pinned:

Vaibhav Saini, Class of 1997
Abhishek Bishnoi, Class of 1998
Rajat Negi, Class of 1998
Shaleen Bansal, Class of 2009
Raja Rastogi, Class of 2014

The Life Membership badges were ceremonially pinned by AVM Deepak Gaur (Class of ICSE 1975, Vice President, CHAA) and Ms. Shabnam Singh (Class of 1973, President, CHAA).

The second ceremony took place on 18th January 2026 at the CH Campus. The following members were pinned:

Sir K.K. Aggarwal, Honorary Life Member, Class of 1975, and a dedicated teacher at CH for over four decades
Capt. Sunil Sharma, Class of 1980
Manisha Sharma, Class of 1988
Akhil Dabral, Class of 1998
Dikshant Bhandari, Class of 2009

The badges were presented by Ms. Shabnam Singh, President, CHAA.

Both ceremonies were warm, memorable occasions that reflected the strong sense of pride, belonging, and continuity within the Cambrian Hall community. Seeing Cambrianites from diverse generations come together reaffirmed the spirit that binds us all.

We encourage all Cambrianites to consider taking CH Alumni Life Membership—a meaningful first step towards giving back to our alma mater and strengthening the CH community.
