The history of metal works and artifacts of KINNAUR (a district in the state of HIMACHAL PRADESH) is believed to be very old and it traces back to 1
8th century. This art has been practiced by our forefathers and we have been working in this field to make it renowned all over the world. The metal ware of Kinnaur is an emblem of the innate talent skill of the artisans. Common metals like copper brass and silver are used to render exquisite epitome of practical application of artistic expressions of dedicated craftsmen turning metal into dreams. We are specialist in embossing work on metal sheets. This work is known as repoussè, which refers to continuous turning of a metal to a desired shape, beating it alternatively from front and behind. Located in the foothills of Doon Valley in Dehradun, INDIA, our occupation involves making of images of Tibetan gods & goddesses and monastic art works on metal sheets (Gold, Silver, Copper & Brass) with the help of our traditional and latest tools. The demand for such metal works has been increasing in recent years in various countries of the world. The historic monuments created by us are scattered throughout and beyond INDIA. The glorious silver statue of GURU RINPOCHE at Kungri Gompa and the 11 feet high silver stupa at Key Gompa in Lahaul Spiti are an example of our master creation. The famous Lerabling monastery in France has many of our works which include Sertok, Gyaltsen, Natuk, Door Decoration, Chusrin and many art works which are used for internal decoration of the monastery. We have also made numerous Tibetan ritual items in KINNAUR, LAHAUL SPITI, LADHAK and TIBET also. Deeply motivated by our past and realizing the rarity and speciality of this genuine occupation, we are determined for the continuation and preservation of this unique profession. At present apart from clients from INDIA and TIBET we have also worked for Nyingma Centres in TAIWAN, USA, FRANCE and MALAYSIA. Our work include the famous 14 feet high SERTOK and the decoration of doors at the Ggreat Stupa of descent from Devalok at Mindrolling monasatry, Clement Town , Dehradun. We have also worked with some of the prominent monasteries like Khenpo Thupten Monastery Manali, Kungri Gompa Lahaul Spiti, Driking Kagyu Dehradun, Kagyu Gompa Clement Town, Tashi Gompa Clement Town, Driking Kagyu Ladhak, Gaden Jhangtse Mungod, Gaden Choekhorling Kinnaur and Sakya monastery Dehradun to name a few…
We have just completed the Prayer Wheel project of Mindrolling monastery, India, where we made 108 big prayer wheels. We have also just finished 8 Stupa projects of Tashi Gompa , Clement Town, India.
