The Mind in Action

The following analogy may help to clarify the concept of how the three minds work a little more.

If you imagine you mind is like a computer …
Your conscious mind is best represented by the keyboard and monitor. Data is inputted on the keyboard and the results are thrown up on the monitor screen. That is how you conscious mind works – information is taken in via some outside (or internal) stimulus from your environment and the results are thrown up instantaneously into your consciousness.

Your subconscious is like the RAM in your computer. For those who don’t know, RAM is the place in a computer where programs and data that are currently in use are kept so they can easily be reached quickly by the computer processor. It is much faster than other types of memory, such as the hard disk or CD-ROM.

Your subconscious works in the same way. Any recent memories are stored there for quick recall when needed, such as what your telephone number is or the name of a person you just met. It also holds your current programs that you run every day, such as your current recurring thoughts, behavior patterns, habits, and feelings.

Your unconscious is like the hard disk drive in your computer. It is the long term storage place for all your memories and programs that have been installed since birth.

Your unconscious mind (and ultimately your subconscious mind) then uses these programs to make sense of all the data you receive from the world and to keep you safe and ensure your survival. The logic of these two minds is that if it worked in the past and you survived, then it will help you get through similar situations by the same means, no matter how misguided, painful, and unhelpful the results may be to you personally in the outside world.

There is a tradition in English to express thanks and sorry on every small things and using polite phrases. Common Polite words/Phrases are:

इंग्लिश मैं हर छोटी छोटी बात पर थैंक्स और सॉरी और शिष्टाचार शब्दों/वाक्यो को बोलने का रिवाज है. प्रचलित शिष्टाचार शब्द/वर्ड्स :

Please, Kindly - When you are to ask time, pen or any thing, then you are to use ‘please’ or ‘kindly’. If somebody has asked you and you are giving pen or anything or you are replying, you should say ‘please’ while giving anything. ‘Kindly’ is normally used in writing and for seniors.

कृपया (प्लीज, काइंडली) – जब हमे किसी से टाइम पूछना हो या कोई वास्तु मांगनी हो तो ‘कृपया – प्लीज-काइंडली’ कहते है. अगर किसी ने आपसे माँगा और आप वह वास्तु डे रहे हो या जवाब दे रहे हो, तब भी अप्पको ‘प्लीज’ कहना है. ‘काइंडली’ आमतौर पर लिखने मैं और सीनियर्स के लिए इस्तेमाल होता है.

Thanks - If someone has done even a small thing for you or gives you something, you should say ‘thanks’ or ‘thank you’ in your response. Use of words 'thanks or thank you' appears a bit informal hence some other words may be joined with it like - Thanks a lot / Many thanks / Thank you very much / Thank you very much indeed / Thank you so much / Thank you very much for your help / for your guidance / for the present. When someone thanks to you, you should again respond and say ‘It’s all right’, or ‘it’s fine’, or 'That's okay', or '(Oh) Not at all', or 'Don't mention it', or ‘it’s/that's my pleasure’, or ‘welcome’ or ‘you are welcome’.

Sorry, Excuse Me, Pardon - If you are late or you forget something or you have come across of others or your body/things touched somebody, you should say ‘sorry’ for everything.
If you want to attract someone’s attention or you are to pass in between of some persons or you are sitting in a group and you are to go out for a while, you should say ‘excuse me’. On sneezing in fron of others, you should say "Excuse me". On this 'Excuse me' others can say "Bless you"
When over phone you do not hear clearly, please say ‘pardon’ or ‘I beg your pardon', to hear again.

माफ़ कीजियेगा (Sorry, Excuse Me, Pardon) -
माफ़ी के लिए अलग अलग अवसर पर अलग अलग शब्द बोले जाते है. आमतौर पर कुछ भूल जाने पैर, किसी के बीच मैं आने पैर, किसी से टकराने पर, ‘सॉरी’ कह कर माफ़ी मांगते है.
अगर आप किसी का सभ्यतापूर्वक ध्यान आकर्षित करना चाहते है, या दो लोगो के बीच से गुजरना चाहते हो, या किसी ग्रुप मैं बैठे हो और कुछ समय के लिए उठना चाहते हो तो आपको ‘एक्सक्यूसे में’ बोलना है. दूसरो के सामने छींक आने पर आप कहते है "Excuse me". Is "Excuse me" के जवाब मैं सामने वाला "Bless you" बोल सकता है.
फ़ोन पर बात करते समय अगर आपको ठीक से सुनाई नहीं देता है तो आपको कहना है 'pardon please' or 'I beg your pardon', सामने वाला व्यक्ति समाज जायेगा और बात को दोबारा कहेगा.

Allow me – If you want to render small help to other like you want to carry the bag of senior, you should say – 'Allow me to carry the bag, please'. In place of 'Allow me' you may also use 'May I help you?'

इजाजत दीजिये - अगर आप किसी की छोटी सी भी सहायता करना चाहते हो – जैसे किसी सीनियर का बैग उठाना चाहते हो तो आप कहते है – आपका बैग उठाने की इजाजत दीजिये. 'इजाजत दीजिये' के स्थान पर 'क्या मैं आपकी मदद कर सकता हूँ?' भी कह सकते है.

Use of Let

अंग्रेजी भाषा में let का प्रयोग अनेक स्थानों पर किया जाता है. जैसे- सुझाव या सलाह देने के लिए, कोई सेवा प्रस्तुत करने के लिए, कोई जानकारी देने के लिए या अनुमति देने के लिए. अनुमति देने वाले structures में let का प्रयोग ‘आदेशात्मक’ हो जाता है.निम्नलिखित उदाहरणों से let का व्यापक महत्व समझ में आ जाएगा.

विद्यार्थी : मैं यहाँ एक किराये के मकान में रह रहा हूँ.
Student : I’m residing in a rented house here.

अध्यापक : आप JODHPUR में और क्या करते हैं?
Teacher : What more you do in JODHPUR?

विद्यार्थी : श्रीमान, मैं एम.बी.ए. हेतु तैयारी कर रहा हूँ.
Student : Sir, I’m preparing for M.B.A.

अध्यापक : आपके पिताजी क्या करते हैं?
Teacher : What’s your father?

विद्यार्थी : श्रीमान, मेरे पिताजी एक राष्ट्रीयकृत बैंक में वरिष्ठ प्रबंधक हैं.
Student : Sir, my father is a senior manager in a nationalized bank.

अध्यापक : आपके शौक क्या हैं?
Teacher : What are your hobbies?

विद्यार्थी : श्रीमान, मेरे शौक बागवानी और उपन्यास पढ़ना है.
Student : Sir, my hobbies are gardening and reading novels.

अध्यापक : आपके जीवन का ध्येय क्या है?
Teacher : What’s your aim in life?

विद्यार्थी : मैं एक प्रसिद्ध कंपनी का मुख्य अधिकारी बनना चाहता हूँ.
Student : I want to become a Chief Executive of a reputed company.

अध्यापक : आप अंग्रेजी बोलना क्यों सीखना चाहते हैं?
Teacher : Why do you want to learn speaking English?

विद्यार्थी : श्रीमान, मैं अंग्रेजी बोल सकता हूँ लेकिन मैं बिना रुके अंग्रेजी बोलना चाहता हूँ.
Student : Sir, I can speak English but I want to speak English fluently.

अध्यापक : अच्छा है. मुझे यकीन है कि यदि आप मेहनत करेंगे, तो तीन महीने में आपकी अंग्रेजी सुधर जायेगी और आप सरलता से बिना रुके बोल सकेंगे.
Teacher : That’s fine. I’m sure if you work hard, your English will be improved within three months and you will be able to speak quite fluently.

*BIO-CLOCK*

If we have to go out, we set the alarm at 4.00 in the morning and go to sleep. But sometimes we get up before the alarm. This is Bio-clock.

Many people believe generally that they die at the age of 80 - 90.

Many set it up their own Bioclock believing that at the age of 50-60 all diseases will come.

That’s why generally people get sick at 50-60 and die at early stage. We unknowingly set up our Bioclock incorrectly.

*Most people in China live to be 100 years old. Their Bioclock is set up like that.*

So friends,

*1. We will tweak Bio-clock so that we can live to be at least 120 years old.*

*2. We should believe that at 40 to 60 years there is no chance of getting any disease.*

*3. Beat the die (if hair). Look young. Do not allow the appearance of ageing.*

*4. Be active. Go jogging instead of walking.*

*5. Believe that health can increase with age. (It's true).*

*6. This mind is the reason for everything. Never, ever allow the Bio-clock set your ending.*
