Genuine question: is everyone else's packing setup calm and sorted, or is my bed just permanently a small disaster zone?
This is what it actually looks like mid-order — boxes, the little artwork cards that go into every package, jewelry pieces scattered everywhere in between.

Running this solo means there's no version where it looks tidy while it's happening. No warehouse, no team, no assembly line... just me, a bed covered in orders, and a system that mostly works.

Honestly, I've stopped trying to make it look more polished than it is. This is what small-batch, handmade, one-person-run actually looks like behind the scenes... a little chaotic, entirely real, and every single piece packed by hand because there's no one else here to do it.

If you've ever wanted something made this way
— actually thought through, actually packed with care even when the process looks like this
— that's what you're getting when you order here. DM me if you want to see what's currently available. 🤍

So, tell me honestly. Chaotic packer or suspiciously organized one? I need to know I'm not alone here. 😅

A trick someone showed me a while back, and it's stuck with me since — how to hide burnt cord ends so they never show on the finished side of your piece. Small move, but it genuinely changes how a beginner piece reads.

I'm Ashwini — the hands (and the curiosity) behind Stones Unturned Studio.
Here's what's actually coming out of this exact mix of curiosity: bigger macrame pieces are already in the works, a few new craft experiments I'm not ready to name yet, and — if silver keeps insisting the way macrame did — probably more of that too. None of it's showing up all at once. I'd rather post pieces as they're actually ready than sit on a "finished collection" for months just to launch it perfectly.
Over the next few weeks, expect a real mix: some smaller, gift-sized pieces (crochet's about to make an appearance), a proper look at where the silver work is headed, and eventually the bigger, more elegant macrame pieces I keep threatening to show you.
Also, full transparency: my Shopify hasn't been updated in a while — more on that soon, once there's actually something ready to put there. In the meantime, keep an eye on the next reel — there's a crochet project coming that turned out properly cute, and I'm genuinely excited to show it.
If any of this ends up meaning something to you the way it means something to me, that's genuinely the whole point of showing it.
Curious which direction you want to see more of first — tell me in the comments, I'm genuinely deciding partly based on that.

Full honesty: this is my first proper face-to-camera reel, and partway through, the nerves got the better of me and I skipped the line that mattered most — so here it is instead. I only want to share what I'm genuinely doing. My stones, my process, hands actually making things. Nothing staged.💯⚡

Small add-on: I used to meditate every morning back in Mumbai, where I'm from — well, tried to. City noise doesn't really allow for it. Mountains do. That's probably part of why this morning's overwhelm hit as hard as it did; usually the noise gets filtered out before I even open the app.

One thing I've decided going forward: nothing I post here is manufactured. The stones exist, the process happened, none of it is AI-generated content wearing a person's face. If I say I made something, I made it. That's the whole promise. The plan behind all this is still forming — maybe ten percent there, if I'm honest — but it's an honest plan, not a performed one.

Also — happy belated🫣 Independence Day. Felt fitting that the thing I needed freedom from this week wasn't some big life event. Just noise🙅

Here's what that ten percent actually looks like in practice: a small collection I've been quietly sitting on while I figured all of this out at least a part of it, finally starting to come out this week — timed, mostly by accident, right for festival season. More on that soon, in one of the next few posts.

I made these moonstone drop necklaces in three styles, from a simple 5-drop necklace to a more elegant statement piece.

And while I love them all, I realised something while creating them... I never imagine them being worn for a special occasion.

I imagine them becoming part of someone's everyday life.

I think we've been taught to save beautiful things for "someday", but I'm much more interested in finding joy in today.

And that's exactly the energy behind Stones Unturned Studio.

If this feels like your vibe too, welcome. 🤍

Some of these pieces are already on the website and some will be joining soon.

And if one quietly speaks to you, send me a DM and let's find your jewellery soul mate. ✨

Okay but this piece feels really special because it’s the first design from an entirely new line of drop jewellery I’ve been working on ✨

Sometimes I see something in my head so clearly that I already know how I want it to feel… but the actual process of bringing it to life takes its own time.

With this necklace, I found these moonstone drops and instantly knew they belonged together like this.
But then came the waiting. Finding the right brass chain. Trying different combinations. Wondering if it would actually look as beautiful in real life as it did in my mind.

And honestly? When it finally came together it looked even better than I imagined 🥹

I think building a business feels a lot like that too.
Holding onto a vision while things slowly fall into place.
Having doubts and excitement exist together.
Learning to trust the process even when you can’t fully see the outcome yet.

Some things don’t arrive all at once. They reveal themselves piece by piece.

This is just the beginning of this new collection and I already can’t wait to show you the next pieces coming soon 🤍

Thank you for being here and growing with Stones Unturned with so much love and softness along the way ✨

Just came back from a little side hunt and found these shells and mother of pearl pieces and LOOK AT THEM. I already know these are going to become something beautiful someday.

People always ask me where I get my stones and shells from 😄 so today i am answering some questions about where I buy stones, how I get them and my process. If you would like more details feel free to DM me. I would love to answer.

Q: Where do I buy my stones and shells from?Honestly… from everywhere.

Some tiny garnet strings and beads came from random market walks in Thailand. Some amethyst and lapis came from a tiny old Tibetan lady in Pokhara with the warmest smile. And of course, Chameli Market in Jaipur is still one of my biggest sources.

I think that’s what makes this process so special to me. Every material already carries a memory before it even becomes jewelry.

Q: How do I buy materials?Definitely not in bulk kilos 😭

Even when it costs me more, I still buy smaller quantities because I’m extremely particular about quality, texture, colors, and feeling. I’d rather spend hours selecting a few really beautiful pieces than buy blindly in bulk.

Q: What’s my process of selecting? This is the part I love the most honestly.

When I look at a shell or stone, I don’t just see “material.” I usually see a design first. Or at least the beginning of one.

Sometimes I’ll sit with vendors for hours going through trays one by one. Sometimes I leave and come back days later because I can’t stop thinking about one stone 😂

Every natural shell, pearl, fossil, and stone has its own mood, shape, texture, and energy. No two are ever the same. And I think they kind of tell you what they want to become if you’re patient enough to listen.

Maybe that’s why Stones Unturned pieces always end up finding very specific people too 🤍
