In our country there is a disease much dangerous than any other, it is called caste discrimination. Now, just imagine how the women of unprivileged caste be treated by the society.
The concept of purity haunts them.
They are not allowed to enter the places which are thought to be pure, like the domestic help is required to clean all the utensils and those utensils are kept in the kitchen after she washes them but she is not allowed to enter the kitchen. This is a common urban practice too.
The tea shops and hotels keep different glasses for different customers in some places, people from the so called lower castes are offered tea and water from a plastic or paper cups.
End caste apartheid and smash brahminical patriarchy.

I have been lately noticing an advertisement talking about leadership development for women. And there is a MAN WEARING SAREE to represent woman. Had he been wearing saree just like that, I wouldn't care, but to "REPRESENT WOMEN"???

I like what they talk about woman, that women in professional life face BIASES, POLITICS, GLASS CEILING and STEREOTYPES. So, isn't wearing a saree to represent woman again a stereotype?
I am sure that people in that organization have very positive intentions for women, but do you notice that these small acts are actually building onto the traits that you want to fight against?
Do you want females to wear saree to be called a leader or act as a leader? or do you want them to have leadership skills irrespective of what they are wearing.
One must not be ashamed of wearing a saree (irrespective of gender) but one should definitely be ashamed of representing a gender through a clothing style.

In the name of Sanskar, girls have been compromising since childhood and grown at a stage where they no more understand the difference between compromise and right/duty.
Many girls/ women feel "Proud" to be called Sanskari. And these sankars are nothing but waking up early in the morning and doing all the household chores, so that all the males when wake up get their breakfast ready on table; and sleeping late in the night after completing all the household chores again and check on everyone's needs before own sleep. Sanskar is also wearing salwar suit/ saree (compulsorily after marriage), wearing jewellery (in the name of aurat ka singaar), bindi, dupatta on head, touching feet of every elder , smiling all the time, not complaining about their discomfort but "Adjusting", being silent most of the time, obeying orders of all the elders and husband, and CONSIDERING THAT THIS IS WHAT A WOMEN SHOULD BE DOING.

And poor girls who miss any of these things are never given this tag of "Sanskari".
Sanskari sounds so positive that everyone wants GIRLS to have these traits. This includes parents, in-laws, husband, why should boyfriends stay behind and girls themselves too...

Girls if you want to do this with your life and you think this is not compromise, then please do everything and stay happy. But when you become a mother or mother -in-law don't impose this on your daughter or daughter in law in the name of SANSKAAR. Everyone deserves to live their life on their own terms, even YOU.

Some injustices are easy to recognise and some injustices seem very normal unless you have seen what justice should look like.
Boys are continuously demeaned, they have been not trusted enough financially. parents have been telling them since childhood "tumse na ho payega"
Parents show a lack of capability in a boy and doesn't let them make their own 'house as home'. They bid their son to build house or get furniture for their house. The only problem is that not many men understand that their bidding has been done, because they live with their parents only. They don't understand that they have been not trusted enough to stand independent.

Such a tragedy!
