There is something unmistakable about a Mario Buccellati jewel.

Created in 1970, this exceptional bracelet combines yellow and white gold with diamonds in a striking composition of rhomboids and triangles. Its geometry is bold and precise, yet the richness of the piece lies above all in the extraordinary treatment of the gold.

The surface is meticulously engraved using Buccellati’s celebrated rigato technique: countless fine, parallel lines are traced into the metal by hand, transforming the appearance of gold and giving it a soft, almost textile-like texture.

This mastery of engraving is at the heart of the Maison’s identity. Mario Buccellati understood gold not simply as a precious material, but as a surface to be sculpted, engraved and brought to life through
light and shadow.

A wearable piece of art.

During the 19th century, Roman micromosaics became among the most refined souvenirs of the Grand Tour. Made from countless minute glass tesserae and requiring extraordinary precision, these miniature works of art allowed travellers to carry home a fragment of the Eternal City.

Dating to around 1850, this pair of earrings and matching pendant is a beautiful example of this tradition.
Set in gold, the micromosaics are distinguished by an especially unusual feature: their vivid red ground.
In contrast to the darker backgrounds more commonly associated with micromosaic jewellery, the intense red brings warmth and luminosity to the compositions, enhancing the colours of the tiny tesserae and creating a striking dialogue with the gold.

A jewel born from travel, Roman craftsmanship and the fascination of the Grand Tour made all the more distinctive by its remarkable red ground 😍

More than a cameo: a portrait carved in stone, a story framed in precious colour.

For centuries, cameos have held a singular place in the history of jewellery. More than decorative objects, they were miniature works of art, intimate portraits and classical figures carved to be worn, admired and passed from one generation to the next.
This remarkable Georgian ring carries that tradition at its centre, with a finely carved male profile set in yellow gold.

What makes it particularly captivating, however, is the richness of its surround: vivid rubies and diamonds encircle the cameo, creating an
unusually precious frame for such a classical subject.

In the history of the Maison, no bond shaped Buccellati’s identity like the one with Gabriele d’Annunzio.
In 1929, a botanical book recommended by the poet to Mario Buccellati—delivered through a personal letter—became the creative seed for his legendary leaf motifs.

Mario did not simply create jewellery in the 1930s: he translated their intellectual correspondence into gold. The extraordinary engraving and texturing transformed those leaves inspired by his friend d’Annunzio into something radically new, a sculptural, timeless jewel.

This bracelet embodies that distinctive language where botanical forms elevate into objects of enduring beauty, and craftsmanship becomes an art of interpretation.

The Maison’s signature, still as evocative today as when Mario Buccellati first imagined it, through the shared vision with D’Annunzio.
