Made in Rome, loved worldwide ✨✨ Elisabetta Capolino, creator of “dbetta” jewelery, is by profession
an architect and demonstrates the disciplined formality of her training
in the practical wearability of her necklaces which are at once both
elegant and structured. Born in Rome, Elisabetta comes from a proud lineage of Italian
jewellers and was taught the tradition of the craft by both her grandfa
ther
and her mother. At the age of six she was making her own necklaces and throughout
her university years the demand for her eclectic chokers and beaded
ropes prompted her going into production. It was her travels in Africa, however, and the extensive research in
tribal jewellery from all over the world that inspired Elisabetta to
create a jewellery line that went beyond decoration and into the mystique
of seduction and symbolism. The collections are designed so as to fuse the shapes, structure,
colors and “looks” of contemporary fashion with ancient
charm. Each item in the “dbetta” collection has also been made
by skilled African craftsmen using eco-materials and wherever possible,
Elisabetta works with women’s cooperatives and under-privileged
workers.
“dbetta” have been widely recognized and held numerous
exhibitions in Africa and Europe, as well as having her pieces featured
in runway events from Milan to Nairobi and London. Elisabetta’s creations have also appeared in fashion magazine like
Elle, Harpers & Queen, Vogue, Marie Clare and Arise.
