Many people think a shop should simply sell things, objects, products. Plexi Shock is something else: a meeting point of color, art, bold shapes and plays of light.
Just a few steps from the Colosseum, in Rione Monti, one of the few Roman districts that still preserves a strong artisanal identity.

If there’s a place in Rome that doesn’t try too hard to impress you,
it’s probably this one.

Plexi Shock is a small atelier run by one artist
who spends his days cutting, shaping, and chasing color like it actually matters.

Things here don’t really follow trends.
They just happen — a bit strange, a bit bright, sometimes hard to explain.

You can come in, try things on, look around,
and maybe leave with something you didn’t expect.

I’m one of the few in Rome still pushing real research through objects, color, and form.

Carletto non è un mostro. È un mostro addomesticato, colorato, pop.
Il terrore è diventato design. L’abisso è diventato giocattolo.

Frankenstein cucina, il vampiro beve succo di pomodoro.
La paura non sparisce — cambia forma, diventa stile.

Corpi elastici, identità fluide, mondi che si mischiano.
Il mostro non è più fuori: è un pattern, una texture, una possibilità estetica.

E in fondo è quello che faccio anche io:
forme impossibili, colori radicali, geometrie che non chiedono il permesso.

Plexi Shock non imita il mostro.
Lo trasforma in gioiello.

They said they were just earrings.
She replied that some people mistake art for an accessory.
Two pieces of plexiglass, a few shameless colors, and the air changed direction.
In Rome it happens often: beauty appears where no one expects it.
Someone looked at her with a puzzled expression.
She walked on — some geometries don’t ask for permission. ✨
Nel cuore di Monti, una ragazza si fermò davanti allo specchio e decise che la noia non avrebbe più avuto diritto di cittadinanza.
Indossò due frammenti di plexiglass colorato e il mondo, all’improvviso, sembrò meno serio e molto più interessante.
Qualcuno disse che erano solo orecchini.
Lei sorrise: certi oggetti non si indossano, si dichiarano.
Da quel momento ogni passo era un piccolo atto di disobbedienza estetica.
E Roma, per qualche istante, sembrò un po’ più viva.

These brooches are the result of an improvisational, Coleman-inspired technique: free instruments, Ayler-like saxophones, tradition pushed to the point of rupture.
Envelopes, curvatures, geometries, and strange, unruly colors.

In my way of producing materials there is a strong musical root — deeply jazz-driven — with a post-modern, post-ironic, post-everything aura.

This closes the 2025 brooch triptych: brooches I compose as unique pieces every December, conceived to accompany disarming scarves and theatrical pieces.
For me, these are opening-night brooches, theatre brooches — pieces that do not go unnoticed, carrying a syncopated, contemporary rhythm.
