Continuing my ritual of visiting artisanal factories, today I toured the fabbrica of .
What a treat! Since everything from their machines, processes and packaging is proprietary, I couldn't take pictures or video. But, that enabled me to be truly in every moment. I have some knowledge of cacao processing (thanks ), and seeing how this very large operation still creates handmade chocolates with a personal touch was impressive.
Every single person working there was so friendly and accommodating, so I didn't feel like I was intruding on their very busy work day. Easter is around the corner!
The tour ended with a tasting of finely crafted chocolates: their famous Turinot (a 5-gram version of giandujotto di torino), various flavors of cremini, single source Cialdine and chocolate dipped orange peel. Buonissimo.
Of course, I had to buy more chocolate in their shop!
Many thanks to Letizia Brunasso for arranging and conducting my tour. I still have a cacao bean in my pocket 🤣.
