HandcraftKu I make tsumami zaiku and sell them on Etsy. Here's my shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/JagataraArt Therefore, I can reduce waste for more eco-friendly handmade.

Traditionally tsumami zaiku (or well known as tsumami kanzashi or just kanzashi) hand-dyeing silk habutai in the process. But I am using scraps of traditional textiles such as vintage kimono, batik cotton and silk, saree silk, etc. I use only fabric scraps, which I obtain from many sources. For Indonesian fabrics, for instance, I have my family search at tailors in their neighborhood and send to m

e in Japan. For Japanese vintage kimono silk, I can easily obtain from recycle shops or kimono shops where they sell kimono silk scraps. And so on. Therefore, I try my best to reduce waste. Tsumami zaiku may freely be translated "works (art or craft) produced by using a method of folding and pinching small squares of fabric and assembling them with rice glue". I make hair accessories and jewelry with tsumami zaiku. Thank you for checking out my shop!
