この2025年の年内に、レザーソールの底付けに入るのが目標です！ 頑張ります(｀･ω･´)ゞ

靴の年内完成は無理ですが…(；´Д｀)

【 Regular Weekend Shoemaking Training 】

So, this weekend's shoemaking training...
I was sewing the remaining welt on one shoe and trimming off the excess leather♪

And finally, next weekend's shoemaking training...
I am planning to lay the cork, install the shank, and prepare for the leather sole...＼(^o^)／

My goal is to start attaching the leather sole by the end of 2025 ！
I'll do my best. (｀･ω･´)ゞ

I won't be able to finish the shoes by the end of the year, though...(；´Д｀)

【 すくい針作り 】

皆様、こんばんは♪
気怠い日曜日の夜をいかがお過ごしでしょうか？

さて今宵は 腕時計ストラップ作りの「すくい縫い」という工程で使う「すくい針」の製作に勤しんでおります。

「すくい縫い」とは何かというと…
反対側にまで針を貫通させずに縫う製法です。

市販されている一般的な真っ直ぐな針ですと、反対側まで貫通してしまいます。

そこで、一般的な縫い針を 曲げてすくい針を自作します。

市販の縫い針自体は焼き入れされているので硬く、そのまま曲げると折れてしまいますので…
縫い針をアルコールランプなどで熱しながら、自分が使いやすいカーブになるように曲げていきます。

私の場合、主に腕時計ストラップの裏材を縫う時やループを縫う時に この「すくい針」を使用します。

【 Making a Needle for non-penetrating stitch 】

Good evening, everyone♪
How are you spending this lazy Sunday night?

Well, tonight I'm crafting a " Special needle" used in the "non-penetrating stitch" process for making watch straps.

So, what is "non-penetrating stitch"?　
It's a sewing method where the thread doesn't pass all the way through to the other side.

Standard straight needles will pierce all the way through to the other side.

So, I bend a straight sewing needle to make my own needles for non-penetrating stitch.

Commercial sewing needles are heat hardened.
If you bend it suddenly, the needle will break.
So, I heat the sewing needle over an alcohol lamp or similar, after reducing the hardness, then bend it into a curve that's comfortable for me to use.

I mainly use this "needles for non-penetrating stitch" when sewing the backing material of watch straps or when sewing loops.

【 いざ古巣へ♪ 】

皆様、こんばんは♪
胸弾むサタデーナイトをいかがお過ごしでしょうか？

さて本日は、あっという間で もう22年前…
私を腕時計ベルト職人の道に導いてくれたバンビさんへお邪魔してきました♪

本日の東京 御徒町のバンビさん本社では、腕時計好きの祭典ワンデイフェスティバルが開催されていました。　
まさに「腕時計好きためのデズニーランド」のようです♪

バンビさんの本社にお邪魔するのは もう12年ぶりくらいで、とても懐かしかったです♪

あの頃の私は…
「時計バンドなんて、腕時計のオマケ」とか「次の仕事が見つかるまでの繋ぎ」とか、まるで反抗期の子供でホントすいませんでした(; ´д｀)

これからは、未来の時計バンド業界に貢献出来るように頑張るっすー(｀･ω･´)ゞ

バンビさんの各部門の皆様、本日は大変お世話になりありがとうございましたm(_ _)m✨️

Now, today, I visited Bambi.
it's been 22 years ago…
This company that set me on the path to becoming a watch strap craftsman♪

Today, Bambi's headquarters in Okachimachi, Tokyo, hosted a One Day Festival for watch lovers.
It's truly like a Disneyland for watch lovers♪

It's been about 12 years since I last visited Bambi's headquarters, and it brought back so many nostalgic memories! ♪

Back then, I was...
I was like a rebellious child, thinking things like "Watch bands are just a freebie with the watch" or "A stopgap until I find my next job."
I'm so sorry (; ´д｀)

From now on, I'll do my best to contribute to the future of the watch band industry (｀･ω･´)ゞ

Thank you so much to everyone in Bambi's departments for your help today m(_ _)m✨️

【 ウエルトすくい縫い 】

皆様、こんばんは♪
気怠い日曜の夜をいかがお過ごしでしょうか？

さて、この週末は、ようやくウエルトのすくい縫いまで来ました＼(^o^)／
(まだ片足だけですが…💧)

「ウエルト」とは何かというと…
車で言うバンパーみたいなもので、階段の登りの時などに靴の爪先などが階段にぶつかったりするのを防いでくれたりします♪

あと靴底が擦り減って交換する際には…
靴に直接靴底が縫い付けられている製法ですと、靴底を交換するたびに靴本体が傷んでしまいますが、ウエルトに靴底を縫い付けている製法なら、靴本体が傷まず永く愛用出来る利点があります♪

いやしかし、この調子だと残念な事に年内の完成は難しいですが…💧
まぁ、趣味なので楽しく作れれば超OKっすー(^o^)あはは♪

【 Stitching the Welt 】

Good evening everyone♪
How are you spending this lazy Sunday evening?

This weekend, I finally got around to stitching the welt ＼(^o^)／
(I've only done one shoe so far...💧)

What is a "welt"?
It's like a bumper on a car, and it protects the toes of your shoes from hitting the stairs when you're climbing them.♪

Also, when the soles wear out and need replacing...
If the soles are sewn directly to the shoe, the shoe itself gets damaged every time you replace the soles. However, if the soles are sewn to the welt, the shoe itself stays intact, allowing you to enjoy it for a long time.♪

Unfortunately, at this rate, it's unlikely I'll be able to finish it by the end of the year...💧
Well, it's a hobby, so as long as I have fun making it, I'm totally fine with it.(^o^)Haha♪

【 吊り込み 】

皆様、こんばんは♪
気怠い火曜の夜をいかがお過ごしでしょうか？

さてこの週末の製靴特訓は、釣り込みでした。
いよいよ、靴っぽい形になってきました＼(^o^)／

「吊り込み」とは…
「ワニ」というペンチみたいな道具で革を引っ張り、釘を使って革を木型に留めて、革に靴の形を癖付けする作業です。

この「ワニ」という道具は、海外では「ピンサー」と呼ばれていて、ペンチ部分で革を引っ張ったり、ペンチの頭の部分をハンマーのように使って釘を打ち込んだりします。

このワニという道具は、一般的にはドイツのミンケ社やブリストル社のピンサーが有名でカッコイイのですが…
残念ながら私の手にはデカ過ぎて諦めました (/_;)

日本製のワニは小さいので、革を細かく釣り込みたい時にとても使いやすいのですが…
しかしながら日本製ワニ製造職人がもうほぼ居ないのでナカナカ手に入りにくくなりました (T_T)

日本製のワニがどれくらいレアなのかというと…

靴職人の方が亡くなると、使っていたワニが市場に出てくる程度の数しかないといった感じです(/_;)

私も大事に使いたいと思います♪

【 Lasting 】

Good evening, everyone♪
How are you spending this lazy Tuesday night?

Well, this weekend's shoemaking training was "lasting". It's finally starting to take on a shoe-like shape! ＼(^o^)／♪

"Lasting" is…
The process of pulling the leather with a pliers-like tool called a "pincer" and fastening it to the wooden last with iron nails to give the leather the shape of a shoe.

These pincer tools are generally known for their cool and well-made pincers from German companies like "Minke" and "Bristal"...

Unfortunately, they were too big for my hands, so I gave up on them. (T_T)

Japanese pincers are small, making them perfect for finely tucking leather.
However, Japanese pincers are rare now, so they're hard to come by.

As for how rare Japanese pincer are...
When a Japanese shoemaker passes away, the pincer they used appears on the market. (/_;)
That's how few there are.

I'll treasure my pincers♪

【 For Cartier 】

皆様、こんばんは♪
気怠い月曜の夜をいかがお過ごしでしょうか？

さて今回のご依頼のお時計はカルティエさんのタンク用ストラップ製作なのですが…　

①: ガルーシャ
②: スターマーク有り
③: ドレスウオッチ
④: レディース

このご要望が4つ重なりますと、
製作難易度が もう絶望的に跳ね上がります((((；ﾟДﾟ))))ｶﾞｸｶﾞｸﾌﾞﾙﾌﾞﾙ

ざっくりながら簡単にご説明させて頂きますと。。。

☆レディースのドレスウオッチの場合…
バネ棒の位置がお時計本体にあまりに近過ぎる上に、スターマーク付近のガルーシャは 革が分厚く硬いので、ガルーシャの革を知り尽くした超高度な研磨技術が必要です。

☆そして今回の場合…
ウオッチストラップの幅が10mmしかないので、そのド真ん中にスターマークを入れて、ストラップ両端を手縫いするのですが…

ガルーシャに穴を開けるために使っているピンバイス用のドリル刃は、焼き入れされていて刃があまりに硬く 粒々が割れてしまう場合もありますので、今回は ドリル刃を焼き戻して 刃の硬度を少し下げてから使用するといった経験も必要となります。

…という訳でようやく完成いたしました＼(^o^)／

【 For Cartier 】

How are you spending this lazy Sunday evening?

The watch strap I was commissioned to make today is for a Cartier Tank...

①: Galuchat (Stingray) leather
②: With a "Star Mark"
③: for Dress watch
④: for Women's

With these four requests,
the difficulty of production skyrockets to a hopeless level… ((((；ﾟДﾟ))))

Let me give you a rough explanation...

☆In the case of a women's dress watch...
The watch spring bar is positioned too close to the watch body, and the Stingray leather strap with a Star Mark is made of too thick leather, requiring extremely advanced polishing techniques that require an expert knowledge of Stingray leather.

☆And especially in the case of this ladies' dress watch...
The watch strap is only 10mm wide, so I have to put a "Star Mark" right in the middle , and hand-sew both ends of the Stingray leather strap...

The stingray' grains near the Star Mark are extremely hard, so if I use too much force when making the holes, the grains will crack, but if I don't use enough force, the holes won't be made.
This requires not only advanced production techniques but also skilled experience.

For example…
the pin vise drill bit used to drill holes in the Stingray leather grains is hardened and extremely hard, so I needed to re-harden the drill bit to reduce its hardness a little.
..And so, it's finally finished ＼(^o^)／

「Crawler (クローラ)」とは…
いわゆる、戦車などの「履帯（りたい）」の事です。
（ちなみに同義語で「キャタピ◯」という言葉もありますが、そちらはキャタピラ社さん独自の商標となっております。）

この新作時計ベルトは、革を手編みしてお作りしておりまして、色や革の種類を替えて、スペシャルな一本をお作りする事が可能です♪

ダイバーズウオッチやクロノグラフの時計に合わせるスペシャルなレザーストラップが欲しいなと思って作りました。

【 New Watch Strap for 22nd Anniversary 】

Good evening, everyone! ♪
How are you spending this lazy Wednesday night?

The other day, it was featured in the "Oshare Dojo ONLINE SALON" exotic leather feature...

I'd like to introduce my new watch strap, "Crawler," the result of my 22nd year as a watch strap craftsman! ＼(^o^)／♪

"Crawler" is...
It refers to the tracks of a tank or other vehicle.　
( By the way, there's also the synonym "Caterpillar," but that's a proprietary trademark of Caterpillar. )

This new watch strap is hand-woven from leather, and you can customize it to your liking by changing the color and type of leather. ♪

I created this strap because I wanted a special leather strap to go with a diver's watch or chronograph watch.
Because it's knitted, it's comfortable even for someone like me who sweats a lot. (^o^)

And, this "Crawler" strap design has been patented by the Japan Patent Office.

To briefly explain what "The Oshare Dojo" is in English…
It is an online salon where various people compete against each other in terms of fashion sense.

The topic of this time "The Oshare Dojo ONLINE　SALON" was "The Allure of Exotic Leather."

I think there are three main aspects to the appeal of exotic leather, and I spoke passionately about them♪

Also, my new watch strap "Crawler," which I created with all my might to celebrate my 22nd year as a watch strap craftsman, was recently featured in the Oshare Dojo ONLINE SALON.

最近は、時計ベルト製作の合間に 靴作りと修理の修行に通っておりまして、日々あっという間に過ぎてゆくのでビックリしてしまいます(＠_＠;)

「時計ベルト作りで培ったガルーシャの加工技術で、靴作ってみたい！」と思い靴の世界にも足を踏み入れたものの、靴作りの技術が時計ベルト作りに応用出来る事が多く…
そのため この新たな1年は時計ベルト作りにおいても新たな境地を切り開いていけるヒントを獲得いたしました＼(^o^)／

この新たな1年も 日々いっそうの精進に努めて参ります(｀･ω･´)ゞ

【 Yeeeah!!!! I enrolled in the TOPGUN ♪ 】

Starting this fall…
I have enrolled in the night school of 『 The Tokyo Metropolitan Vocational Ability Development Center in Asakusa』 in order to further improve my leather product manufacturing skills (｀･ω･´)yeees!!

What is『 The Tokyo Metropolitan Vocational Ability Development Center in Asakusa』？？

『 The Tokyo Metropolitan Vocational Ability Development Center in Asakusa』is …

Established in 1972 to train and improve the skills of craftsmen in the leather industry, it is a training school run by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government that is famous for being quite sadistic, and is truly worthy of the name "TOPGUN of the leather industry".

And what's more, the teachers are all top-notch, active craftsmen that any leather craftsman would look up to, and I am so lucky to be able to receive direct instruction from them.

Here, I will grow by competing with the most elite craftsmen in the leather industry o(｀･ω･´)o

Oh!! What !?
So that means...
"Tom Cruise of the leather industry"
… I am？ (*´ω｀*) ahaha♪

革業界に従事する職人の訓練と技術向上のため1972年に設立され、東京都が運営するかなりドSめで有名な訓練校で、まさに「革業界のTOPGUN」という名に相応しい訓練校です。

そしてなんと、先生方は 革職人ならば誰もが憧れる雲上の現役ベテラン職人さん達で、幸せな事に憧れの先生方から直々にご指導頂けるのです＼(^o^)／
