Garden of Desire Jewellery

Garden of Desire Jewellery Objects of Desire. Stories told in Silver. Est.2008. Siem Reap . Phnom Penh . Singapore Garden of Desire was established in Siem Reap in 2008.

Renowned for their striking designs and exquisite workmanship, the jewellery at Garden of Desire are stories expressed in silver. Inspired by the ancient temples of Angkor (KHMER collection), organic and man-made forms (FORM collection), quiet contemplation (DREAM collection) and the natural world (NATURE collection), the jewellery at Garden of Desire was born of Paris-trained founder-designer Ly

Pisith’s return to Cambodia in 2007 after almost four decades of living abroad. At Garden of Desire’s workshop, Pisith and his artisans hand-work each design in limited quantities. Simple tools and techniques are used, but the objects created – from 955 fine silver, 925 sterling silver, and semi-precious stones – are compelling works of wearable art.

Green has always lingered within Garden of Desire.⁣

In the cool depth of certain stones, in weathered textures, in the way light settles across silver.⁣

Over time, it began extending beyond the jewellery itself, into customised objects and display pieces, shaping the atmosphere around the collection.⁣

These are the small details that slowly become part of the world we create.⁣

Can You Hear Me? — Archive pieces, 2009. ⁣

An experimental series combining lacquer and silver, created in reflection on the lasting impact of landmines in Cambodia and the lives of survivors. ⁣

At the time, we were exploring how jewellery could move beyond adornment, towards material experimentation, fragmented forms, and conversations between craft, memory, resilience, and the body. ⁣

The use of lacquer was also part of this exploration. Long present in Cambodian decorative and craft traditions, lacquer brought another material language into the work, one of layering, depth, surface, and time. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

Some of the most meaningful works came from experimentation...⁣collaborations across silver, wood, lacquer, stone, and craft traditions beyond jewellery.⁣

Over the years, we have worked closely with local sandstone artisans, whose understanding of form comes from years of carving patiently by hand, across objects and architectural works of various scales.⁣

Though the materials are different, there is a shared sensitivity to texture, balance, and process that naturally finds its way into our work.⁣

Not everything needed to become a collection.⁣

Some pieces simply gave us space to explore, question, and grow.⁣

Yet over time, some of these explorations became part of our creative language.

As we move forward, we hope to make space for that spirit again.⁣

Sometimes it feels right to look back,⁣
and see how everything connects.⁣

A path shaped by making, across disciplines, across time.⁣

From the architectural studios of Jean Nouvel and Bernard Tschumi, to the design language of Alain Mikli, and the precision of production at Siemens Medical Instruments, each chapter leaves its mark.⁣

What carries through is a way of working: a sensitivity to structure and proportion, a respect for process,⁣ and a belief in making by hand.⁣

Strawberry Quartz and Carnelian⁣
Soft pinks held alongside deeper reds, each stone with its own tone and clarity.⁣

Each strawberry quartz drop carries natural inclusions that catch the light softly, revealing subtle tones of pink and translucent depth. No two are exactly alike.

Strawberry quartz brings warmth, while carnelian adds depth and presence.⁣
