Inspired by the rich forms of Byzantine crosses, this piece brings together traditional Maltese filigree craftsmanship with natural gemstones.

Handcrafted in 925 sterling silver, finished with 24k gold plating, and set with natural Mozambican amethysts, each detail is individually formed and finished by hand.

A contemporary interpretation of an ancient symbol — where heritage, craftsmanship and precious materials meet.

🎼 A little music in filigree

A custom-made pendant inspired by the treble clef and bass clef, brought together through traditional Maltese filigree in sterling silver.

At the centre, a beautiful Welo Opal adds a subtle play of colour to the piece.

Handcrafted, one wire at a time. ✨

The Bloom of Tradition — Filigree Reimagined ✨

Now, captured in all their detail.

These two tiaras were a wonderful collaboration with the talented Luke Azzopardi, bringing together contemporary design and the timeless art of Maltese filigree.

Inspired by the yucca flower and the graceful unfurling of fern leaves, each piece was handcrafted in sterling silver, with every petal, leaf and granella carefully formed, twisted, soldered and assembled by hand.

From the first length of silver wire to the finished tiara, countless hours of traditional craftsmanship went into creating these pieces — a process where patience, precision and imagination meet.

I’m especially happy to finally share these high-resolution photographs, which allow the intricate details of the filigree to truly come to life. ❤️

My sincere thanks once again to LUKE AZZOPARDI for the collaboration, and to the Malta Crafts Foundationts Foundation for their continued support in giving traditional Maltese craftsmanship a place to grow, evolve and be seen.

It is always an honour to have the opportunity to speak to the public about our treasured craft of filigree, its rich heritage, and the importance of preserving and celebrating this unique art for future generations.

A celebration of heritage through contemporary design.

It was a privilege to collaborate with the talented LUKE AZZOPARDI on the creation of these two sterling silver tiaras. My heartfelt thanks to the Malta Crafts Foundation for their unwavering support and for championing opportunities that keep traditional craftsmanship alive while encouraging it to evolve.

Inspired by the delicate forms of the yucca flower and the graceful unfurling of fern leaves, each tiara translates elements of the natural world into intricate filigree. Handcrafted in sterling silver, every detail was brought to life through countless hours of melting, shaping, twisting, soldering, and assembling.

A contemporary interpretation of a centuries-old craft, where nature, design, and tradition bloom together.

Dear friends,

I am honored to be participating in the Premju Ġieħ l-Artiġjanat Malti Competition organised by the Malta Crafts Foundation with "Ħobbni", an interactive sculpture handcrafted in filigree in the precious metal sub category.

There are 7 sub-categories in all, and you need to vote for one product in each category before you finally press Submit.

Thank you to all of you who support this tradition, and to the Malta Crafts Foundation for the opportunity.

All products are currently on exhibit at Spazju Kreattiv.

As 2025 comes to a close, I find myself deeply grateful.
Grateful for the experiences that shaped me, the opportunities that trusted my hands, and the friendships that found their way into my life.

This year was not only about what was created, but about what was shared, learned, and felt along the way. Every filigree piece crafted carried its own story — a quiet dialogue between hands, heart, and tradition.

Thank you to everyone who believed, supported, commissioned, visited, listened, and inspired. Your trust and presence gave meaning to every wire bent and every moment spent at the bench.

With a full heart, I now look ahead to 2026 — to new ideas, fresh challenges, and stories yet to be crafted. May it be a year of courage, beauty, and meaningful creation ✨
