A news that we'd never thought of seeing by the giant watchmaker Rolex. Will it be a good thing for the Rolex and the entire watch market? Only time will tell.

[Polishing your watch is DANGEROUS 🛑 🛑] We get it, everyone like their watch to be shiny ✨ ✨. But did you know that polishing your watch can “actually” bring more harm than good? 😨 😨

Let me explain why. Polishing means removing metal layer from your watch to take off scratches and dents.

The more deeper the scratch, the more material is removed to make your watch shinning again!

Polishing will also “botak” your watch’s original shape and contour. Manufacturer always advice not to over-polish your watch because it can damage the durability in long-term.

Why is this super important for your luxury watches? 🤔 🤔
⚠️ – Polishing DEVALUE your watch! It will affect resale price if you sell them. If your watch is solid GOLD, it removes your gold also! 💸 💸 Once removed with polishing, you cannot “add” back anymore.

⚠️ – Polishing too often will DAMAGE the watch’s shape! Watches with excessive polishing will have lesser buyer and lesser resale value.

Polishing is not something you should do often. Even after polishing, you know you will end up scratching the watch again. In the end, polishing doesn’t bring you a long-term solution at all 😔 😔
