Learning can happen anywhere — whenever someone is ready.

Recently, while Vivian was in England, jewellery making became part of her journey too.

A table.
A few tools.
Beautiful pearls and materials.
And people who were curious and ready to learn.
That is how an EJS Experience can begin.

For Vivian, teaching has gradually become more than conducting a class. It has become part of her lifestyle — taking a skill she has learned and sharing it with people she meets along the way.

And perhaps this is what we love most about EJS.
We don't only teach people how to make jewellery. We hope to create moments where people can slow down, create with their hands, connect with one another and experience the joy of making something for themselves.

For some, it’s a relaxing afternoon.
For some, it’s a long-overdue catch-up with a friend.

For others, it’s a chance to explore something new — and perhaps discover whether the EJS MasterClass could be their next step.

Jewellery has always been more than something we wear.

Behind every piece is a story, a creator, a technique—and sometimes, a connection that begins simply by sitting down and having a conversation.

This 10 October, EJS invites you to join us for a special Pink Afternoon Tea at Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur, together with Aki from Shelby Japan and Angie from Angie Jewels & Co.

Aki will be visiting us from Japan, bringing with her a different perspective on natural stones and wearable art, while Angie will share her world of jewellery, creativity and transformation.

From Banker to Jewellery Maker — A New Chapter Begins

Meet Angeline, our latest graduate of the EJS MasterClass Foundation in Jewellery Making.

For years, her world was banking. Today, she is giving herself permission to explore something completely different — the world of jewellery making.

And perhaps that is what a second chapter is really about.
Not necessarily leaving everything behind.
Not having everything figured out.

But having the courage to say:
“I’m ready to experience something new.”
Through her MasterClass Foundation journey, Angeline explored the fundamental techniques of Stringing, Wire Work, Knotting and Weaving, turning what she learned into her own collection of jewellery pieces.

Looking at this table filled with her creations, we are not just celebrating what she has made.
We are celebrating what she has started.

Because graduation from Foundation isn't the end of the journey. It is the first step into a much bigger jewellery world — one where she can continue creating, developing her own style, deepening her skills and discovering where this new chapter may lead.

EJS Brunei — Another Beautiful Experience

Sometimes, you don’t need another thing to buy.
You need an experience to remember.

Our latest EJS Jewellery Making Experience in Brunei brought together ladies from different walks of life for a few hours of creativity, conversation and learning.

They came to make jewellery.
But along the way, they discovered the joy of slowing down, working with their hands, learning something new — and finally being able to say:
“I made this myself.”

At EJS, every piece created carries a little part of its maker. And one of our favourite moments is seeing everyone proudly wearing their finished jewellery and receiving their certificate of completion.

A very special thank you to our Brunei facilitators, Erna and Melissa, for being part of this journey.

Having people on the ground who believe in what we are building makes all the difference. Thank you for welcoming our students, guiding them through their experience and helping us grow the EJS community in Brunei, one experience at a time.

Sometimes, the best decision is simply deciding to experience it for yourself.

Karen came all the way from Batu Pahat for a staycation in Kuala Lumpur.

She had heard about EJS for many years, but somehow, the timing was never quite right.

This time, she decided to make her staycation a little different — not just shopping, eating or relaxing, but spending a few hours learning to make jewellery with her own hands.

And there she was… choosing her materials, learning the technique, creating her own Arlo piece and leaving with something more than jewellery — a memory she made for herself.

People come to EJS for many different reasons.

Some want a new hobby.
Some want time for themselves.
Some are curious about jewellery making.
Some are looking for their next chapter.
And sometimes, they simply want to experience the joy of saying:

“I made this myself.”
You don't need to know anything about jewellery making before you walk through our doors. You just need to give yourself the chance to begin.

At EJS, we are here to inspire, to teach, and sometimes simply to give you a space to slow down, relax your mind and enjoy making something with your own hands.

Many of our students first came to us without knowing anything about jewellery making. They walked in curious, had a conversation with us, tried their first experience — and discovered something they never knew they could do.
Some come for a few hours of creativity.
Some discover a new passion.

And for some, it becomes the beginning of an entirely new chapter.

That is what EJS is about.

WHEN ONE CHAPTER ENDS, ANOTHER CAN BEGIN.

Meet Fefe, our first EJS MasterClass Foundation graduate from Hong Kong.

Fefe is a pianist, a mother, and a woman entering a new chapter of her life.

For many years, life was filled with responsibilities, family and watching her children grow. And when the children became more independent, something changed.

There was finally space to explore what could come next for her.
She chose jewellery making.
She didn't begin because she needed another career.

She began with curiosity — to learn, to create and to discover something new about herself.

From learning the foundations of stringing, wire work, knotting and weaving, she gradually created her own jewellery pieces and, eventually, her own portfolio.

And this is what I love about teaching adults.
Sometimes we think learning belongs to the younger years of our lives.

I believe the opposite.

There comes a stage when we know ourselves better. We have experienced life. Our children may have grown. Our priorities have changed.

And suddenly, learning is no longer about getting a job or proving something to someone.

It becomes about ourselves.
Fefe's jewellery portfolio represents more than the pieces she created.

It represents curiosity.

A new skill.
A new possibility.
And perhaps the beginning of a completely different chapter.
