Should You Choose an Inverter or Non-Inverter Air Conditioner?
Inverter (variable frequency) air conditioners adjust the compressor's power based on the indoor temperature.
Non-Inverter (fixed frequency) air conditioners operate by turning the compressor on and off.
You've probably heard from older air conditioning technicians that keeping the air conditioner on continuously is more efficient than frequently turning it on and off. This is true because the compressor uses a lot of power when starting up. Therefore, frequent stopping and starting actually consumes more electricity.
So, does this mean that Inverter air conditioners are always more energy-efficient? It depends on the conditions of your room or indoor space.
If you set the air conditioner to 24ยฐC, it typically takes one to two hours for the room to reach that temperature. If you often turn off the air conditioner after just one or two hours, it won't be very energy-efficient. Inverter air conditioners are commonly used in bedrooms because they are typically used for longer periods without frequent switching on and off.

Additionally, if your room is large but your Inverter air conditioner has a low power capacity, it will take a long time to cool the room to the set temperature. During this time, the compressor will run continuously, which is not energy-efficient. Living rooms often use Non-Inverter air conditioners because they are larger spaces that require more power and are not typically kept on for extended periods. However, if you keep your air conditioner on 24/7, an Inverter unit would be more suitable.
