Liza thought about the war as she laid on the cold concrete floor of her room. Her long silver hair formed a spiral around her. All the years of fighting for a revolution had finally paid off. But at what cost? She looked at the small pendant in her hand and then gazed at the drawings on the walls. They were a painful reminder of what could have been if times were better. Her empty house echoed in silent laughter, lost warmth and frozen memories. She had lost her friends, neighbors and comrades during the revolution.

She groaned in pain and heartache. As she gathered strength to stand on her feet, her eyes caught a framed photo on the table. A bright smiling face of a little girl stared back at her. She walked towards it and held it close. She cradled the photo like a baby, trying to feel her but she couldn't. She was too numb to feel anything. There were no tears in her eyes. She couldn't cry anymore.

No. She couldn't live anymore.

Living in her house was a nightmare. She thought as she mindlessly doused it with petrol. She stood in front of it, giving it one last look. As she lit a match, the memories flooded her mind, as if they were trying to stop her. But it was too late. Her grief was too strong. She watched her once beautiful and lovely house crash and burn into ashes.

The dandelion field was the favorite place she and her daughter would go. Relaxing, enjoying the cool breeze, spying on their neighbors and laughing at their jokes. Now, it was just a quiet place filled with memories of war, blood and death. In one hand was the pendant she had found on her daughter's dead body and in the other was a silver gun that was gifted to her by her closest friend. They would accompany her to her death. She hoped that there was an afterlife. She wanted to see them again.
She closed her eyes as she pointed the gun to her head. Her daughter’s face flashed in her mind as she let out one last breath.
The quiet place was momentarily disturbed by a bang. She fell on the ground with a bloody head. Her mind had just seven seconds to replay her memories.

One last time.

The twin princesses of the Great Regal Kingdom, both eighteen. They were getting ready to be revealed.
Freya was the oldest. Freda was the youngest.

Red was love, Blue was sad. One represented good, One represented bad.

The oldest wore purple, the youngest wore red. One wore royalty, the other wore the love

They faced the Mirror, their heads held up high and faces full of smiles.

The Mirror shone a blinding light at them, giving them each a crown.

After the light, out came Freya, her gown changed to red and her tiara changed to an elegant crown, with red jewels. She was now the good queen who would rule her kingdom well.

Everyone expected the same for the youngest. She would be a good queen for another kingdom.

But to everyone's disappointment, Freda came out, her gown changed to blue and her tiara remained the same, only now adorned with blue jewels.

The Kingdom shook with heavy realization. Freya was destined to be their good queen. A blessing to all. But Freda was cursed to be a bad queen. A curse to them and to others.

Her father, the King, looked away. Her mother, the Queen, covered her face and started to cry. The people looked at her with pity.

While Freya was pampered, Freda was scorned to the point that she could take it no more.
As she walked down the path that led to the Kingdom's gate, people looked at her with pity, some spat on the ground she walked on.

As soon as she went through the gate and into the big world, it was slammed shut. The Kingdom had just shut their once beloved princess out.

Many years later, Freda found herself in a prosperous Kingdom of Mythedona. She worked harder to achieve success and it didn't go unnoticed in the people's eyes.
Meanwhile, Freya was never allowed to do anything other than play, eat and sleep. She might not even know the first thing about work.

The King of the Kingdom noticed Freda and asked her to be his wife. As they wedded in church, the people were in a joyful state. Their King had found a wife and a queen.

Freya had gotten married to a wealthy merchant. The Regal Kingdom crowned Freya as their queen. Their good, lovely and beautiful queen.
Mythedona Kingdom crowned Freda as their queen. Their good queen, standing beside her husband.

Queen Freya did everything good. What was good for her was good for the kingdom. Queen Freda did everything good. What was good for the Kingdom was good for her.

Queen Freya soon had two children: a boy and a girl.
Queen Freda had two children: both boys.

Queen Freya taught them beauty and grace.
Queen Freda taught them kindness and love.

Queen Freya spent money on jewels, renovations and fancy parties. Her wealth showed off her kingdom.
Queen Freda spent money on orphanages and charity. Her goodness showed off her kingdom.

Soon, the expenses were too much. Debts piled up. The Regal Kingdom was at war with a kingdom that they owed.
Queen Freya was in despair. Her jewelry and fancy clothes had to be sold to pay off some debts. The stress affected her beauty and her husband left her for another richer and more beautiful maiden. The people suffered. All thanks to their once beloved Queen.
Meanwhile, Mythedona Kingdom was prospering. Other kingdoms heard of their good deeds and kind hearts. They offered alliances and gave them gifts. The Kingdom was even more powerful than it ever was before. All thanks to their beloved Queen.

Freya died and left the kingdom in a bad state. The people lost a queen they thought was good.
Queen Freda died and left the kingdom sorrowful. The people lost a good queen.

Freya was buried and forgotten.
Queen Freda was buried in a grand style and was remembered for generations.

When a mirror shows you a curse. Make yourself a blessing.
Or make sure you remind yourself of the blessing that you are.
