WHY TARGETING “EVERYONE” IS KILLING YOUR BUSINESS ADS
Many business owners believe that the more people they show their advert to, the more sales they will get. So they target “everyone.”
Men, women, students, workers, teenagers, retirees… everybody.😂😂
And that is exactly where the problem starts.
Running ads without clear targeting is like standing in a busy market and shouting:
“Who wants this product?!”
Yes, people are passing, but most of them don’t need what you’re selling.
Take for instance, let me use something you can easily relate with🤔
• If you sell baby products but your ad is showing to single guys, teenagers, and elderly people, you’re basically advertising diapers to people who will never buy them.
• If you run a makeup business and your ad is targeting men who have zero interest in cosmetics, you will get views – but no real customers.
• If you sell school uniforms and you target people without children, your ad budget is just going on vacation.
• If you sell high-end luxury wigs and you target a very low-income audience, they may like your post, but they won’t buy. Yes, they'll just admire and pass 😁😁
That is what broad targeting does.
It brings ATTENTION instead of RESULTS.
HERE IS THE SIMPLE TRUTH:
Good advertising is not about reaching more people.
It is about reaching the RIGHT people.
One person who truly needs your product is more valuable than 1,000 random viewers.
Most failed ads don’t fail because:
• The product is bad
• The price is too high
• The design is poor
They fail because the advert was shown to the wrong audience.
SIMPLE SOLUTION:
Before running any advert, answer this question clearly:
“Who exactly is this product for?”
Not “everyone.”
Just ONE clear ideal customer.
When your targeting is focused, your results become focused too.
