Today's Prayer

Almighty and ever-living God, the great provider, mercifully look upon Your children who are looking up to You for Your divine providence. For we know that our help will only come from the Lord who made heaven and earth. And just as the servants look up to their master and maids to their mistress, we are looking up to You for help.

Please send Your Spirit upon us, the great Paraclete, to come and toil with us so that we will achieve something great in these days. And supply all our needs according to the riches of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, in glory.

We make our prayer through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Excessive studying has totally warped some people's brains, and trust me, nobody's immune to its crazy impact. I'll stop there, but let's just say we gotta be super careful when hitting the books, 'cause wisdom and utter confusion can come from the same studies. Just like how the Eucharist can either give life or death, depending on who's receiving it, some folks study to get smart, while others just end up more lost than a tourist in a foreign land. fathernwajikash chukwuanuekperem

Thank you so much ndi Anambra; The game is now over and we can now shift our focus to our main business. Remember that for some time now, I dropped my ivory elephant tusk and picked up the carved hen, now I'm going back to pick up the elephant tusk again and you know what that means. The transporters and the traders who haven't paid their tax and levy should do so immediately to avoid penalties. I hereby order the ARTMAs, the SASAs, and other tax collectors to resume work immediately because we have run out of funds for running the government. 2026 is just a few months ahead and I'm urging the traders to start paying for the 2026 trader's tax immediately without delay and remember it's now 50k per trader, not per shop. We have been giving to you people for some time now and it's now our turn to start taking back from you what we have given to you. Remember that party was like a boat, it only carries one when there's a need to cross a river and one can decide to leave the boat and enter ship when he wants to sail on the sea. Good morning ndi Anambra for those who have woken up from their slumber. Daalu nu ooo!

Congratulations to you Charles Chukwuma Soludo.

President Trump has shown the true meaning of ascertaining the truth from the right source. An Igbo addage says, 'When looking for something in a hole, it's right to ask the rat, but when looking for things above, it's better to ask the monkey.' (Achowa ihe di n'elu a juo enwe, mana a chowa ihe di n'onu a juo oke).

The truth about the Christian genocides and insecurities in Nigeria cannot be ascertained from the top-class citizens and the political elites because they are not the major victims of those operations. The lower-class citizens are. Those ministers and top-ranked officers, even the high-ranked clerics and bishops, never know what the people in the remote villages are passing through.

Nigerian politicians have made it so that only the voice of the top class matters in everything. But it is not supposed to be like that. How can the transparency and fairness of the Nigerian general election be declared "good" by the elites, while the poor and lower-class citizens complain that the election was rigged and the process was altered? And yet, the court will accept the second-hand evidence of the elites and trash the first-hand witness of the low class?

Until we start taking our facts from the appropriate source, we are not yet ready to tell ourselves the truth. On this, I stand with President Donald Trump that there is a Christian genocide going on in the country and that Nigeria is rightly designated as a Country of Particular Concern.

For the souls of our departed friends, relations and benefactors, Grant light and peace, O Lord.

For those of our family who have fallen asleep in Thy bosom, O Jesus, Grant light and peace, O Lord.

For those who have gone to prepare our place, Grant light and peace, O Lord.

For priests who were our spiritual directors, Grant light and peace, O Lord.

For men or women who were our teachers in school, Grant light and peace, O Lord.

For those who were our employers or employees, Grant light and peace, O Lord.

For those who were our associates in daily toil, Grant light and peace, O Lord.

For any soul whom we ever offended, Grant light and peace, O Lord.

For our enemies now departed, Grant light and peace, O Lord.

For those souls who have none to pray for them, Grant light and peace, O Lord.

For those forgotten by their friends and kin, Grant light and peace, O Lord.

For those now suffering the most, Grant light and peace, O Lord.

For those who have acquired the most merit, Grant light and peace, O Lord.

For the souls next to be released from Purgatory, Grant light and peace, O Lord.

For those who, while on earth, were most devoted to God the Holy Ghost, to Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament, to the holy Mother of God, Grant light and peace, O Lord.

For all deceased popes and prelates, Grant light and peace, O Lord.

For all deceased priests, seminarians and religious, Grant light and peace, O Lord.

For all our brethren in the Faith everywhere, Grant light and peace, O Lord.

For all our separated brethren who deeply loved Thee, and would have come into Thy household had they known the truth, Grant light and peace, O Lord.

For those souls who need, or in life asked, our prayers, Grant light and peace, O Lord.

For those, closer to Thee than we are, whose prayers we need, Grant light and peace, O Lord.

That those may be happy with Thee forever, who on earth were true exemplars of the Catholic Faith, Grant them eternal rest, O Lord.

That those may be admitted to Thine unveiled Presence, who as far as we know never committed mortal sin, Grant them eternal rest, O Lord.

That those may be housed in glory, who lived always in recollection and prayer, Grant them eternal rest, O Lord.

That those may be given the celestial joy of beholding Thee, who lived lives of mortification, self-denial, and penance, Grant them eternal rest, O Lord.

That those may be flooded with Thy love, who denied themselves even Thy favors of indulgence and who made the heroic act for the souls who had gone before them, Grant them eternal rest,
O Lord.

That those may be drawn up to the Beatific Vision, who never put obstacles in the way of sanctifying grace and who ever drew closer in mystical union with Thee, Grant them eternal rest O Lord.

Eternal rest give unto them, O Lord, And let perpetual light shine upon them.

Let us pray:
Be mindful, O Lord, of all Thy servants and handmaids who are gone before us with the sign of faith and repose in the sleep of grace. To these, O Lord, and to all who rest in Christ, grant, we beseech Thee, a place of refreshment, light and peace, through the same Christ Our Lord. Amen.

Sometimes we need to borrow the theory of Judas Iscariot, who said that the funds being wasted on some of our so-called work-of-faith can be used to better the lives of some poor people. But the Lord never said that what he says isn't true; rather, he said that we have the poor people always around us, as his time with us is limited.

But now, it seems like we have both the poor people and the work of faith always around us, and none of them have limited time with us. In this case, I think the words of Judas best suit this present situation in our country now more than the time he spoke them.
The same poor people we neglected to donate for the building of the altar will still come to the altar, praying and asking for the same things we failed to give them while funding the altar project. And they will definitely not get them, as we will always blame it on their lack of faith.

The same God who answered Elijah on the altar made with just twelve stones is the same God who will answer on the altar built with ₦2.5 billion. What happens when we build a ₦1 million altar? Maybe God will say it's too local for him to answer the prayers made on them.

Sometimes, there maybe truth in what the enemies were saying; forget about who is saying it and how they said it. We are making our Christian practices a burden too heavy for our Christian brethren, whereas our Lord Jesus Christ said that we should come to him for the reduction of our burdens and loads.

After all, I'm not the one funding them directly, but I know that whoever takes the funding will, in one way or another, have something that the poor need, and through that, the funds must surely be coming from the poor people. I rest my case here.

EPISODE 4 – THE HOME HE LEFT BEHIND

Esau’s journey back to Canaan was long and arduous, yet it ultimately led him to a profound transformation. With each step, he confronted the consequences of his past choices, acknowledging the riches he had squandered and the opportunities he had missed. Though hunger and shame weighed heavily on him, he began to recognize the value of perseverance and self-reflection.

As he crested a familiar hill, he spotted a figure in the distance – his brother Jacob, sitting under a tree, savoring a simple meal. Esau’s stomach growled with hunger, but he also felt a deep sense of longing for connection and redemption. He approached Jacob, who greeted him with calmness and empathy.

Esau poured out his heart, sharing his desperation and vulnerability. Jacob listened attentively, offering him a poignant choice: his birthright in exchange for a meal. Esau hesitated, torn between his immediate needs and the potential consequences of his decision.

In that moment, Esau faced a profound test of character. Would he prioritize short-term gratification or long-term legacy? Jacob’s words echoed in his mind: "Food will satisfy your stomach today, but the birthright will satisfy your soul tomorrow."

Esau made his choice, and though it came with a tinge of regret, it also marked the beginning of his journey toward healing and restoration. As he ate the meal, he felt a sense of peace settle over him, a sense of being home not just physically, but also emotionally and spiritually.

The reunion with his father, Isaac, was a poignant reminder of the power of mercy and forgiveness. Esau’s journey was far from over, but he had taken the first steps toward redemption, and the warmth of his father’s love enveloped him like a beacon of hope.

EPISODE 3 – THE EMPTY POT

Morning came like every other day in the land of Heth, but for Esau, nothing felt normal anymore. The wine had run out, the laughter had died, and the once-busy compound now echoed with silence. The servants had left one after another. The flocks were gone. Even the camels that once carried his pride had been sold to feed his shame.

All that remained were two wives with loud mouths and empty bellies.

Bashemath shouted from inside their hut, “Esau! Did you not say you were going hunting this morning? The sun is up and you’re still sitting there like a weak man!” Judith added, “If you don’t bring meat today, I’m going to my father’s house. At least there, I can eat!”

Esau said nothing. He just picked up his bow and arrows, his hands trembling from weakness. Once, he was the son of Isaac — a prince. Now, he was just another hungry man walking into the forest, chasing animals that seemed to be laughing at him.

The forest used to feel like home to Esau. But that morning, even the trees looked like they were mocking him. He walked for hours, sweating, hungry, tired. Every arrow he shot missed. By evening, he returned home empty-handed.

When his wives saw him, they laughed bitterly. “Look at this one!” Judith shouted. “You can’t even hunt! So what are you good for?” Esau dropped his bow silently and walked away. His pot was empty. His heart was emptier.

He sat outside, staring at the pot on the fire — only smoke rising, no food inside. His stomach rumbled, and his eyes filled with tears. That was when reality slapped him fully across the face.

He remembered his father’s voice: “A man who rushes to eat before his time will one day feed on the crumbs he threw away.” He remembered his mother’s warnings: “Patience is like planting. The fruit doesn’t grow the day you bury the seed.”

But he had refused to listen. Now, all the things that made him feel “modern” and “wise” were gone. His money had vanished faster than a morning mist, and the friends who used to sing his name had disappeared with it.

That night, hunger didn’t let him sleep. His wives quarreled until midnight, then slept off. Esau sat alone, staring into the dying fire. His mind began to travel. He saw flashes of his father’s tent, his mother’s warm meals, Jacob’s quiet smile.

He thought to himself, “Jacob must be doing well now. He listened. He waited. And look at me — the mighty hunter of shame.”

The next morning, Esau went to the market to see if he could sell his bow. Nobody wanted it. “The son of Isaac is selling his bow?” they mocked. He walked away, his face burning with humiliation.

That evening, as he sat again before the empty pot, something shifted inside him. It wasn’t pride anymore. It wasn’t anger either. It was remorse. He whispered softly, “Father was right. Mama was right. I was the fool who thought wisdom was old-fashioned.”

At that moment, he realized something powerful — the hardest prison is the one built by your own decisions.

And though he was too ashamed to return home, his heart began to long for it. He missed the quiet peace of his father’s house, the voice of reason he once mocked.

But how does a prodigal return? How does a man who laughed at advice now face those he mocked? Esau didn’t know yet. But one thing was clear — his hunger had finally awakened his conscience.

He looked at the moon and said, “If I survive this night, I will find my way home.”

He didn’t know it, but that thought would lead him into a long, painful journey — one that would test not just his strength, but his soul.
